I myself have suffered all of the above - was diagnosed with Epstein Barre, Fibromyalgia, etc. Until last year when I started passing out for no reason, with no warning. The occurances were happening more frequently. After seeing a lot of specialist, my cardiologist realized that my heart would stop for brief periods and that would keep oxygen from getting to my brain, thus causing me to pass out. I had to get a pacemaker in June of '09. I had always had chest pain off and on but it was always "gas" or "chest wall pain"- just something to say they didn't know. I was also getting Pneumonia every year and getting very ill, almost to the point of death. (Jan-Mar)I spent almost 2 and 1/2 months in the hospital and a biopsy of my lungs, before I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. I had never heard of it. Most people don't ever feel any side affects or even know they have it - but as of right now I am in a hospital bed at home, use a wheelchair or walker to get around. Very fatigued. I also have sleep apnea but haven't been set up with the CPap yet. I hope this may answer someone's questions. God Bless, I know how frustrating it is. :-D

I had some of the same symptoms...I have diabetes. The Dr. kept telling me I had chronic fatigue and Epstein Barr Virus, and for three years I had undiagnosed diabetes. Have you had an A1C blood test? This would check your blood sugars for the past three months. You might also ask your Dr. to take an anti-nuclear antibody blood test (checks l

My suggestion.

Read the book adrenal fatigue by James Wilson. He has a website called adrenalfatigue.org

Find a good reputable homeopathic dr that believes in adrenal fatigue.

I know a lady that used to run marathons and could get out of bed a year later, 30 lbs heavier. They told her she had ms/ chronic fatigue/fiber myalgia and the list goes on. She went to a homeopath and they had her 30lbs lighter and running 10k a month later. Very interesting stuff.

Hi all, I just wanted to say that your not alone. I am only 20 years old and was forced to take a medical leave from school because of ALL of the above mentioned symptoms. I want to be a doctor so this is really getting in the way of my future. I will be tested for everything that you listed and hopefully we can figure out what it is. If you had any luck please let me know. Good luck to you all...

Hi! I am also 20 and had to take medical leave from school because of these debilitating symptoms. I am surprised to see so many other girls my age having similar problems. I have been to countless doctors and have had tons of tests. No one can figure me out. I have unexplained weight gain, extreme fatigue and weakness, achey joints, and a ton of other weird symptoms. If anyone gets any answers or has any suggestions please let us know. I am desperate to get answers and get feeling better. There is no way I can go to school or even hold a job in my current condition. Good Luck to everyone!!! Hopefully we can all get some answers soon

I would love to know what this is as well! I'm glad I'm not the only one with these symptoms and no answers. I have had blood tests for everything from diabetes and infection to thyroid and cancer and no answers! I've been referred to a psychiatrist for my anger and depression since they can't explain why all the other symptoms are happening. I've gain almost 50 pounds in three months at the rate of about a pound  a day. It's depressing! I'm only 29 and I'm hating life and everything in it at this point. Somebody has to have an answer as to why this is happening!

Dear all,

I had the same thing since my 35 of age, until I had inserted special progesterone diaphragm by my gynecologist. All problems were coming from hormon inbalance, with no special reason, I was just super sensitive to these changes. Until MIRENA was inserted all my problems stopped.

Are you sure you aren't talking about ME??? I'm desperate for answers and I've had my thyroid checked which is normal, and has remained normal compared to previous tests. Unlike you, I had a hysterectomy (full) about a year and a half ago but the weight gain in just the last several months is going crazy!!! I too have been very careful about what I eat (fruits/vegs/low fat/low sodium/high fiber) and trying to exercise despite the joint pain, depression, and major fatigue. I was very sick all last week and hardly took a bite of food and STILL GAINED WEIGHT! I'm 40 -- have always maintained my weight at around 120-125lbs. at 5'6" but am now already at 147 lbs. with a huge tire around my tummy! At times I can actually feel my stomach expanding. I know I'm NOT drinking enough water/fluids but when I do, that even seems to bloat me. I don't sleep well at all either. I had the excessive sweating before hysterectomy, absolutely NO sex drive and very bad/migraine headaches but those seemed to go away after the hysterectomy. (Headaches are much less often!) I do take Premarin -- hormone replacement. Deep down I just know "it" has to do with my body not producing enough of something -- WHAT, is the question!! I heard that if I'm not getting the "right kind of sleep" that I can gain weight??? I heard that by not eating enough I could be starving myself -- so why not lose weight?? -- but that the eating less could be telling my body to bulk up on what I do take in and storing it as fat. My metabolism has to be wacko despite the normal blood tests for the thyroid and all the other notable blood tests.

Have you had any feedback? Please let me know!

No one can figure out what is going on, but is is taking a huge toll on not only me, but my family. I am only 23 years old. I was diagnosed 10 years ago with hypothroidism. In my last pregnancy (2006) the doctor said it was no longer a problem. I have no idea how it just went away. Well, I feel worse than ever now, with more symptoms than ever and have no idea what to do. I just know there has to be an answer and treatment out there somewhere. Here are my sypmtoms....

1. Extreme fatigue (i could and do sometimes sleep for days at a time, which is one reason my marriage is suffering. I can be up for just a couple of hours and feel exhausted.)(by the way, it isn't my baby either, she sleeps all night and has for awhile now.)

2. Depression, anger, very very easily agitated, health questiony all the time

3. Severe headaches, very sharp pains in head

4. Abnormal weight gain, can't lose no matter what I do. I hardly eat, I exercise normally, but still gain. Not typically a big person either. Have always been on the slim side.

5. Excessive sweating

6. No sex drive whatsoever

7. Trouble falling asleep even though totally exhausted

8. Forgetful (i have always had a superb memory until lately)

9. Dry skin, hair

10. Muscle/joint pain

these symptoms are all very severe to me and real. If anyone could offer any suggestions as to what may be going on, I would be forever grateful. I don't what my family to have to suffer because of this anymore.

Thanks,
ashley

If you ladies figure it out, let me in on it too, will ya? I have the exact same thing going on too! I'm 40, 1 child, peri-menapause, unexplained weight gain but not eating, etc. etc.

Have you been tested for soy intolerance (not allergy). I had been through 6 different Executive panels in 5 years and tests for T4 & Free T threes... and tested for everything else under the sun. I had many of the symptoms you listed as well as abnormally low body temperature. I was finally identified as being completely intolerant to soy protein and dairy protein. I have do NOT have a problem with lactose, but the dairy protein is so close to the make up of soy protein, I was taken off of that too. It's been a couple of years since that was discovered, and I'm still having to take Iodine as it an many other minerals from my body were wiped out. Doing better now, but still have a long way to go....and SOY is in everything it seems. It comes under the headings of soy, soy protein, soy lecithin, lechithin, "other natural flavors", "other natural additives" , "other natural seasonings". Things that did not list it a year ago are now listing it as it is becoming more and more prevalent. I hope your concerns are discovered and you

I'm 22 and have had most of the same symptoms for the past 9 years. Depression, fatigue, migraines, joint pain, and I also have IBS which started around the same time. I also get cysts in my ovaries every month (although when I mentioned PCOS to my doctor, she scoffed at the idea.) I have had massive weight gain. I'm also double the weight I was when I graduated high school. My doctor did all the basic tests but never really dug deep. It got to the point that my doctor would rather believe it was all in my head than to find out what was wrong. They said the likely cause of my headaches were dehydration, and they couldn't find anything physically wrong with me. I finally got the courage to switch doctors and my rheumatoid factor is extremely high. I've already been tested for arthritis and told I didn't have it, but rheumatoid factor can be present for many other things as well. I have an appointment with a rheumatologist on Thursday. Hopefully they will be able to find something out.

I almost forgot about the sleep thing. I have problems with that as well. It can take me up to 4 hours just to fall asleep after going to bed. I just have so many different thoughts race through my head and I try to get it to stop but it doesn't help. Someone I know suggested getting Melanin from GNC and that didn't help at all. I think I just need a light sleep aid. I first tried Midol PM when I was going on a camping trip and had just started my period. I slept like a freakin' baby. So I just need a light, non-habit forming sleep aid for when I'm not on my period.

Katie, you need to get Melatonin. I take two 5 mg. pills every night about 30 minutes before I want to fall asleep. Get the Rexall brand, which is available at Dollar General. It seems to work better than the other brands I have tried. Once you take it, be sure that you are winding down for the evening. Don't be up washing dishes or anything like that after you've taken it. Good luck! It is non habit forming.
