I'm not sure what your Doctor is talking about but hypothyroidism just doesn't go away. I would get a second opinion. It's something that you have for life. I have had it for years and have suffered with everything you have decribed but because my TSH/T4 test don't come back above 5.5mlU/L they will not treat it. I have recently found out via a natural path that if your TSH is above 2mlU/L you have a low thyroid so I would ask to see the results. Hypothyroidism effects everyone differently and doctors have a bad habit of treating everyone the same and we are not, every ones body reacts differently. For example my test result came back at 4 but because it's not above 5.5 they will not treat me but yet I have not energy to do anything, I sleep 14 -16 hours a day but yet it takes me up to 2 hours to fall asleep, I am loosing hair, stomach pain like you would not believe around that time of the months and have gain 50lb in the last year, sweating, migrains, muscle/ joint pain sometimes can hardly walk, mood swings like you would not believe but yet according to the doctors there is nothing wrong with me. What a loud of c**p. 2 things I was told to try was Maca Root and thyrosmart, not sure which one going to try first but anything is better then how I feel right now.

@ ashley,I can understand you very well, but please don't give up,because there is some help with remedies and cures for you.First of all i like to suggest you begin using some all natural combination of things to restore back your health.1. Drink enough water daily(warm to hot also).Atleast 2-3 liters daily.2. Get enough fresh air daily(go with someone).3. Go for a walk daily(30-60 minutes),if you can not go 30-60min.,slowly and gradually build up to that point.Never walk too fast to where as you are completely exhausted, but rather normally and naturally.4. Drink ginger tea daily(slice a piece and chew it occationally).5. Start learning and doing deep breathing and normal relaxing breathing excercises daily(3-5minutes)a couple times a day.6.Start cooking with natural herbs and spices(and learn their health benefits).7. Stop eating white bread, flour, rice and sugar(if you are).Use Olive oil mostly when cooking or making salads.Use organic honey.Don't deep fry or fry your foods, instead steam, back and boil them.8. Get atleast 7-9 hours of sound sleep daily.9. Begin natural stress reduction methods(laughing"belly laughing ect.",bike riding, massages, listening to soft and enjoyable relaxing music very low(while resting or sleeping).Admiring natures beauty while enjoying pleasant thoughts of how wonderful and beautiful it is to and for us.10. try to Get a steam room inhalement a few times in a week(8-10 minutes long).Try this out and see your results. p.s. Add Basil, garlic, onions and cayenne pepper as often as possible to your meal daily.Use organic apple cider vinegar(for about 6weeks long, than take a break from it).Organic Camu camu powder(is about the highest natural vitamin c source there is and has many benefits,if used right. Hope you all good,Kenneth

Hello. My name is Sara and while I am not a doctor, I have had a lot of experience in the medical field. JenAllen, what you are describing sounds a lot like menopause which can be brought on by a hysterectomy. It is unfortunate that your doctor did not discuss this with you. Wellbutron has helped with those symptoms, especially for woman that are going through menopause, but it is important that you talk to a certified doctor first before taking. Ashley, I, like the other guest-responder, have diabetes. I have type 1 diabetes and have had it since I was 14 years old. I am pretty well educated about it now and can feel symptoms quickly. When my sugar readings are consistently high, or even high for a short while, I get entirely fatigued; this occurs even if I have had the recommended amount of sleep. Not only do I become fatigued, but I get short-tempered, I increase or even sometimes lose my appetite, and the weight gain thing is just a ridiculous norm for diabetics. It is incredibly important to get an A1C check, like the other responder suggested before complications of diabetes begin. I hope this has helped you and any others that refer to this webpage.

-Sara

Sounds like chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia. i have suffered from this since 2004. It's a quality of life killer, that's for sure. find a doc in your area who specializes n this. most docs will kick you out and tell you you're a hypochondriac. good luck

It sounds like garden variety, run of the mill chronic fatigue syndrome. You might have picked up a virus in the hospitial. I've been suffereing since 2004. I sleep all the time. Before this I ran the NYC marathon and climbed Mt. Kili. Now I just sleep. want to sleep. don't want to think about my utter lack of interest in doing anything I used to love. After 8 years I think I have grown apathetic. I wouldn't commit suicide because of the devastation it would cause on my children (Plus I'm a coward.) You're young. you have a much better shot at recovery. Find a doctor who specializes in CFS. There are treatment options, but no cure, unfortunately. Good luck

Your diet is causing you to experience these symptoms. The trouble with the modern diet is that it is full of toxic chemicals that the body can’t process and this causes the body systems to break down. I have no doubt that you are consuming a healthy diet as promoted by the health experts, but that diet is causing your problems. The foods that are promoted as healthy are actually doing you more harm than good because they are high in sugar and deplete the body of essential nutrients. You would be better eating organic food as it does not contain the toxic chemicals that non organic food contains. Avoid all processed foods, all margarines, take away food and low fat food. Increase the amount of protein in your diet, eat natural foods and natural fats as they contain those essential fat soluble vitamins. Do not take over the counter multi vitamins as they are synthetic and you will get all the nutrients you need by eating the right food. Also the water you drink could be full of toxic chemicals so try and drink pure water such as rain water if you can get it.

I have gained weight of 20 pounds in last year, can hardly eat, sugar bothers me, my RIGHT side hurts terribly, I had a picture of gallblader but no stones but others tell me that does not tell me about sludge in gallbladder.......   Can not eat in mornings, sugar and butter bother me.  Doctors do not care again they do not care if they do not have an answer right away.  Doctors are not what they use to be.  I can NOT wear tight pants around my abdomen it kills me.  Lettuce and other non fiber foods give me semi dierria a lot of gas and stomach becomes full with little food.  I had an endoscopy and they said it was fine except for  sensitive tissue.  I take a lot of antacids but I feel Dr.'s are not on the right tract.  does anyone have anything like this.  I eat little and can not loose weight like my body is in survival mode to stop loosing weight.  I need dr's that are not arogant.

Perhaps you are anemic, have a low MCHC or low feritin numbers. These can accompany child birth or heavy menstrual cycles. Doctors sometimes appear to enjoy telling people they are fine when they do not know what is wrong thinking if you believe this your body will think it is fine a placebo affect. It never happens.

Did you ever get a diagnosis? I had similar symptoms. I had a sleep study and found out u had severe sleep apnea. I Don't snore and never have. Treating my sleep apnea alleviated about 90% if my problems.

I too, have hypothyroidism and it changes - go back to your doctor and get a stronger dose of Synthroid or whatever you are on. Sorry, I know what a nightmare it is.
