just use cotton wool, I got told by the doctor to do it with a piece of string or cotton wool, that cuts the circulation and the mole will fall off

Read about iodine miracles on curezone. Paint tincture of iodine on flat, fleshy type moles once or twice a day. I have healed several moles this way. Some moles don't respond as well to tincture of iodine, or take longer. some are gone in about a week. Also if you have the cherry-red angiomas, there is an apple cider vinegar (ACV) technique and a burning hot pinhead technique. I tried the hot pinhead method and was able to eliminate about 1/4 of the cherry red angioma moles. Good luck.

I had a mole since birth about the size of a pencil eraser in the crook of my hip on my bikini line. I've hated it for quite sometime and tried a few other DIY removals over the last few years without success. Dermatend, tca solution, apple cider vinegar... All fails. They lightened/discolored my mole but it was a stubborn one. I have about half a dozen little moles on my skin, all have been checked by a dermatologist and cleared as non cancerous. Always see a derm first; skin cancer is best treated when caught EARLY. I decided I really wanted to try this dental floss removal for my mole... It worked with a small skintag I had years ago, so why not try with this sucker? The posts I read (and there were many) all said this works within a few days. My whole process took about 3 weeks total. The important thing I found was to make sure it's TIGHT. I didn't do well on my first knot so the mole was swolen and sensitive with no signs of drying out/shrinking. I iced it for a bit and was able to tie the floss much tighter without pain. Day after day I had to keep it covered with a bandaid, which irritated my skin like crazy, so at night I slathered on neosporin and left it uncovered. After 2 weeks and no shrinking, I dug out some dermatend I had left over from when I tried it before. The secret to dermatend if getting it on a mole with broken skin already so it can really penetrate the root and kill the tissue. I removed the floss knots with my eyebrow scissors (small and sharp) and applied a thick layer of the paste around the base (which was inflamed and open from the floss "cutting" into the skin). Burned like hell for a few minutes, covered with a bandaid and went to sleep. The next day my mole was half dried, half healthy tissue. So I repeated the dermatend that night, covered with a bandaid and went to sleep. (Burning sensation again - which means its working) The next morning I took off the bandaid and my mole was fully black, dried, and scabbed closer tomy skin. Of course after 3 weeks I was ready to be done with this sucker and my skin was ruined from all the bandaids... So I have a few tugs and it popped off my skin! In my opinion, with the size and age of the mole that I had (pencil eraser and 27 years) the one-two approach worked best. I slathered on a healing balm that came with the dermatend (great balm) and all that's left is. Small pink circle where a mole used to be. I'm exfoliating the area to get the cells to regenerate quicker, but my concern isn't a scar. A pink mark is better than a dark mole on my bikini line!!! I wanted to share because I was searching through so many posts and still had questions before I decided to try the floss method. Good luck and keep your skin and hands clean with this method!! Infection is to be avoided!! Xo

After reading other replies, I just cut one off of my neck with manicure scissors. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt. I then applied hydrogen peroxide and put a band-aid on it. It didn't bleed much at all. I have also used my razor to take off small skin tags. Never had a problem.

If your insurance is like mine, you can never get a straight answer to that question. It depends on the medical code used. I know a friend had several off and each one cost a couple hundred dollars. That's why I just cut mine off with a pair of manicure scissors.

I had same issue. It swelled up and I easily twisted back and forth, it stings and it came off but it bled for a few minutes. I about paniced cause I couldn't get string off but the twisting worked, just did it so my neck is slightly sore so good luck.

I had a large raised mole "down under" that always got in the way of shaving. I used thread and tied it as tight as I could around the base of the mole Sunday night. I eventually switched to dental floss to pull the string even tighter a days later. By Wednesday it was shriveled up and easily pulled right off ! Nothing there now! It's completely gone and I'm so happy ! Every so often I would Tighten the string each day btw!

You can call your insurance before visiting a doctor to find out what is covered. Then when you visit the doctor, if they believe them to be only a cosmetic issue, you know in advance what is covered. Also the dermatologist that I saw gave me a price quote that I signed off on before he would complete the procedure. Many times, they can do them in increments if it is financially burdensome.
