I have MS, Lupus SLE im 30 yrs old and 7 months pregnant. The drugs i take when im not pregnant to stop my shakes and joint pain cause birth defects, so i had to stop them before i fell pregnant. I started smoking weed a yr. ago after i got so depressed because i couldn't function as a 'normal' person. I cant sit down because as soon as i do my legs shake and twitch or my joints are so painful, but as soon as i put weight on them they calm, but obviously i cant stand forever and having Lupus makes you so tired anyway. When i first started smoking weed, it was amazing, no pain but most of all i could sit down and not twitch. I use to sleep for around 2 hours a night before because the pain was so bad and the twitching kept me up all night. I got to a point where i felt like i couldn't go on anymore, then someone recommended smoking weed so i gave it a go. I smoke 1 and 1/2 joints a night just enough to stop the pain and shakes but feel so bad about doing it while im pregnant. The thought of going back to standing for hours and living off partly no sleep is scary. I'm not saying what im doing is right, but is it also fair for me to be judged when most of you have no idea what its like to be trapped in a body that you cant control. that 1 and 1/2 joints gives me the freedom to sit still with my family and be able to pay attention to what is being said and most of all get 6 hours sleep. May i also add i am a non-smoker and only smoke the joints to feel normal. I haven't touched alcohol at all while being pregnant and eat a very healthy diet. I spoke to my doctor when i first found out i was pregnant to see what the effect are on babies and was told there is no proven facts that it will do anything but poss a chance of the child getting ADHD which my 6 yr. old son has anyway and i never smoked/ drunk at all while i was pregnant with him. Would like to know your view on me and what i have told you... thanks for reading xx

Hi, I have been of work now since August, have ulcers in my mouth, tongue and throat also thrush. I also have the rotten shakes too, arms, hands, legs, also bells palsy. I don't agree with smoking "weed", however my children (shock) suggested I try a "joint" to help relax me. Still haven't had to courage to do it yet, but after reading your story I just might. I do have wine at night helps with sleeping (and I like it :). I reckon if it gives your mind and body some peace go ahead. Being an X drug & alcohol worker I would advise, just naturally grown. I hope your situation improves...Good Luck :)
