It started when I was around 15, sharp pains in the right side of my abdomin that made it impossible to go to the bathroom, sit, stand, or lie down... I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). I hardly have periods since then.
Just within the past couple months, I was diagnosed with 3 enlarged blood vessels in the frontal lobe of my brain, and various other bacterial infections. This was found on MRI, and also brought about a NEW allergy to the MRI contrast dye, which I've had before and has never affected me. I have also recently become allergic to peanuts. Again, another thing I have eaten all my life.
I do know that prior to my bowel movement issues, I was taking hydrocodone (vicodin) for an ER visit for my PCOS for pain. I saw my doctor today who was worried about the bowel issue's pains being appendicitis (the appendix). I had a stomach CATscan done, injected with dye... so I light up like a christmas tree, and nothing was abnormal.
Blood tests have brought back a slightly elevated white-bloodcell count.
I have also been taking Ativan for depression, sleeplessness and anxiety (considering all my new medical issues within just a month, I've developed some severe mental stress). I feel your being physically and mentally drained. I have to take benedryl, melatonin, ativan, and a medication called "travel sickness" just to sleep. And sometimes that doesnt even work.
I also have chronic bronchitis, and chronic ear infections.
Injury history of broken arms and ankles of a normal adventurous child, and some concussions from sports. Only one of which was severe, where I had to be awoken every hour in fear of slipping into a coma.
My basis for giving you this information is to see if you can relate any of your other medical illnesses to mine. Maybe we can do some further research with linked conditions to narrow down our underlying condition.
Also, not to alarm you, but are there any serious conditions that are prominent in your family's medical history? Sometimes that can help too.

I have been having most of the symptoms that are posted here. I went to Cuba 5 years ago and every year since but caught a nasty intestinal bug the first year that I was there! I was sick for the 5 out of the 7 days that I was gone and then for 10 days after. I went to the hospital when I returned from my week long trip and was given a full prescription for a super antibiotic and had to have a repeat of the same. The doctor then said I was "cured". I have severe stomach cramps and diarrhea at least 5 days out of the week. I have been trying to figure out if it is something that I eat but it seems that there is no rhyme or reason. It starts with the noisy tummy.....sounds like a coffee maker, then goes into sever cramps that seem as painful as labour pains and would describe them as such and then the diarrhea. It last for several hours. 3 to 5 but sometimes longer. I have blood and mucus in the stools and the stool (better word would be puddle) seems to be heavy as it sits in the bottom of the bowl like sand. The mucus, some stool and blood float on the top of the water in the bowl. There seems to be layers of the diarrhea. I have noticed that after about the third trip that the diarrhea is not producing as much product but there is more mucus and blood. I have no idea what causes this as I have cut out what seemed to be a problem for me. I do not eat tomatoes, peppers of any colour or any type of spicy food. I have been to the allergists and have had some positives to a lot of stuff but no food. It seems that if I eat food that is hot it happens quicker. I have not lost any weight and seem to have usual appetite. I am very tired after an "episode" and fall asleep quickly only to be woken with another round of the same. I have been told that I have a very high metabolism and that my body processes food very quickly. If I am out for dinner, I have a very short window before the pains start. At home, I have left the dinner table after a meal to go to the washroom to start the cycle of pain, cramps, diarrhea and the feeling of being very tired. It has gotten to the point where I am afraid to eat or will eat mini-wheats for supper with milk and have no problems. I have sweats, cold clammy, etc. and just figure it is my body's reaction to the diarrhea. I have been to my doctors countess times about this problem. I have taken stool samples in to the lab for testing countless times. I have had blood work done and they still can't figure out what is wrong with me. She is sending me to a GI specialist next for a colonoscopy. I have no mental health issues. I have a full time job. I am happily married and have a great life. No debt and no worries. I believe that I have an intestinal bug still from my first trip to Cuba that has not been killed but my doctor does not agree. I have been suffering from this for 5 years. Perhaps my doctor will find out what is wrong with me but for now I am doing my own research. If anyone has any ideas...as I am tired of spending my night in the bathroom!. Please feel free to respond! Thank you.

It sounds like you may have contracted chlostridium difficile (check spelling) if you are in the states I would strongly recomend bombarding yourself with florastor. I have just suffered another bout of this god awful disease and cured it myself by taking masses of pro biotics, eating yoghurt and sauerkraut (which I detest). The drs have no idea when it comes to this disease so good luck and I cannot stress enough the importance of pro biotics!! There is a place here in Australia called the centre for digestive diseases in Sydney and they are at the fore front of some amazing research. Oh, and try not to eat wheat :)

I suffer the same symptoms both of you are having. But I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Even with medication, I still get chills, sweats & fill sick sometimes. My family doctor says that comes with bowel problems. I found that drinking gatorade helps alot with the cramps. My legs, feet, abdomen and other parts of the body you can imagine will get severe cramps that are crippling. Ya'll are not alone.

I ,as many of you, suffered from the same and alike symptoms described here. Everything started 2 years ago, when noticed blood coming on the stools. From there on, my life became a total nightmare: constant diarrhea, whitish/yellowish discharges, lost of weight, chills, abdominal pain, headaches, dry mouth, stomachache, disorder on bowel movements. I then had a clonoscopy which dictated an ulcer colitis . Thereafter, i started a treatment with suppositories, enemas and medicine that according to the Dr, i was going to have to take for the rest o my life since i was suffering with a problem i have inherited based on family history. However, under this treatment my problems never stopped, i was under these medications for almost a year and a half without any positive result. Tired of such a syndrome and of the lack of results by the medicine prescribed by my GI, i decided to look into natural medicine. I came across a book on homeopathic remedies and in which luckily there was a section on digestion problems and then decided to try a protocol of a series of natural methods to tackle different organs of my digestive system. This sort o cleansing treatment took me 3 months, and today i can say i am cured. No more blood, no more headaches or digestive disorders, no more diarrhea or rush bowel movements.Happily I will now mention what this protocol consist of , how to follow it, and i will also provide you links to buy these natural remedies online as well as the laboratory website. Hope this help you all as well.
- Para-A: this is a detox remedy. Follow the instructions on the label( for one person use it until is out: approx. 1 month)
- Louvos Earth (capsules): This is will stop your bleeding, remove all the bacteria and reduce diarrhea.
- Frangula: It will normalize your digestion, in mi opinion what really cured me.
- Multi Enzymes: Very important to introduce this on your diet from day one. it will re-establish the enzymes that were not working before breaking your food and producing your digestive system to collapse
- Rubust: This will clean your pancreas as well as contribute to normal digestion (very important too)
- Colon Cleanse (capsules): Along with Para-A should be one of the first steps to start this protocol, most of this issues are originated in the colon itself.
The following are the websites to buy these natural remedies and the lab that makes them.

Sounds like Irritable Bowl Syndrome, for most of you
I'm only 19 but my whole family has it and we suffer the very same things
Take some probiotics and limit your intake of sugars and red meat, seems to help me
And caffeine, that's a killer for ANYONES digestive system
Much luck <3

I had these issues for years and told I had irritable bowel syndrome........so lived with it for many many years. My body was screaming out and I eventually developed an itchy skin rash. I believe my body couldn't cope so it burst out in a rash to get my attention if you will. Skin specialist suggested it may be Celiac disease. I stopped all GLUTEN in my food and have never looked back!! More energy, BM more regular and firm. Sometimes a little constipated but that is probably because I don't eat enough fruits at times. Occasional diarrhea, but I believe I get it when I have accidentally eaten gluten in something that was I was told was gluten free. Rash left my skin within a few days of changing my diet. It is worth looking into. The pain used to be so unbearable. Bloated all the time with gas. I am 61 yrs old and if I can help anyone younger to rid themselves of a lifetime of suffering, I will be very happy. I have been gluten free for almost a year now.
