It depends on the kind of multivitamins you take. Many are made of synthetic vitamins and minerals or vitamins and minerals extracted in ways not befitting the body. These types of multivitamins, or other vitamins and minerals made in the same fashion, have actually been shown in studies to shorten your life span.

If you want to go with a multivitamin, I suggest you take Alive! by Nature's Way or any multivitamin made by Nature's Sunshine (which you can only purchase at their web site). Those are made with vitamins and minerals from food and are extracted responsibly from food. I also suggest a whole food supplement, which contains fruit and vegetable juice powders, grains, and/or green algae. These supplements contain the vitamins and minerals of food because they are still contained within the food. They also contain the antioxidants, fiber, and other nutrients of fruits and vegetables. Go to a health food store to purchase. The best one I have personally come across is called Juice Plus. (You can only purchase on their web site.)

Pretty much all natural fruits and vegetables have been shown to improve oral health because they improve bodily health. (Good oral health is an indication of good bodily health.) You may want to avoid acidic fruits and vegetables such as citrus fruits and tomatoes since they can wear away the enamel on your teeth, but they are still healthy for you. You want to eat more vegetables than fruit because they control your blood sugar and glycemic index better.

Hi there, if you take a regular multivitamin it should be okay, although you can overdose on vitamins so be sure that if you are planning to take a multivitamin that you haven't already gotten enough from food as it is. I can tell you that one of the best foods you can eat for good teeth and gums is apples, because apples provide good support back. Why are you asking? Are you considering taking a multivitamin yet?
