My son who turns 12 years early next month was diagnosed with multiple enlarged lymph nodes. He started experiencing pain in the tummy around March this year. In April he went for a scan and the scan showed swollen lymph nodes in the small intestines and at the end of May he went for another scan, which showed that the swelling has spread to the large intestines. The report states that he has multiple enlarged lymph nodes (Mesenteric) seen in the RIF and peri-umbilical areas. Larger ones are 17 x 6 mm in size. Liver, gallbladder, pancreas spleen, both kidneys, and bladder all appear normal. No bowel pathology or appendicitis seen.
Some doctors were recommending surgery and others are saying it will go away on its own and still others say it needs more tests before surgery. What could it be?
