Hi, I have heard of this before(kind of.) Well when girls have sexual thoughts their vagina gets wet. Because girls underwear are tight, or seem to be tight,(I wouldn't know, Haha) the wetness becomes uncomfortable and probably gets itchy like sweat on your arms on a hot summer day. Now, boxers are loose and are comfortable so the wetness doesn't bother as much. I don't really know, so just tell me if this was useful (though it probably wasn't.)

Your daughter has, in some way, been doing the best thing she could have done: if her underwear is constantly wet than that creates the perfect environment for yeast and bacteria that can cause persistent yeast infections. Usually the first advice when fighting these infections is to avoid being in wet underwear for longer periods of time. But, that alone doesn't solve the problem that causes the underwear to get wet, in the first place. What type of underwear is she wearing? Certain fabrics might cause irritations or simply cause excessive sweating which is uncomfortable any way you look at it. I'm sure you already tried using cotton-only fabrics?

Sounds like the problem is already solved. Mom says "You must wear underware." and daughter wears boy's boxers. I'd say "That solves the problem until it doesn't. I can live with that for now." It keeps the moisture running out of her vagina from staining anything that shows from the outside and allows her labia to dry, good for preventing infections.
Although mom says that she must wear underware, there was a time when some rural societies/farming communities where girls and women would wear dresses and no underwear. It made it simpler for them to go to the bathroom when there was no toilet to sit on. The skirts just had to be long enough so there would be no "peek-a-boo p**sy".
