I would try a Chiropractic and get a massage regularly. Your spine may be out of line and that causes muscles and ligaments to tighten trying to straighten the spine

Sounds to me like symptoms of arthritis. How would I know? I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis around the age of 44, and now see a Rheumatologist, and take Remicade Infusions, every 6 weeks. Many, many people suffer from inflammation, you should also read up on that, and all of the issues that it causes.

Have you asked your doctor to send you to a rheumatism to see if you have Fibromyalgia ? you can run tests but they will not reveal if you have it . Only a rheumatism can, but than again they might not agree. Its something that is not easily diagnosed but you feel over all pain , stiffness fatigue, you can have digestion problems , eye sight problems , headaches and the list goes on . Good luck , you have to be the navigator and explorer for your health . I hope this has given you a lead towards health and wellness . I've been there , you can heal your self . Diet plays a big part . Start noticing which foods affect you. Get rid of gluten , sugar and if needed dairy . Look up , pete evans and the paleo way , that is a good start to healing the gut , which will in turn heal the body .

Hello! Am 55 and i have had been diagnosed with all over body arthritis since my 30's now i have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, but the only worst thing i have done to myself is to stop exercising.

my whole life i have managed not to have severe pain, i also have multiple damaged spinal disks from a fall at 16 from a third floor, so i know pain.

When i exercise the pain goes away much more then when i sit, or do work that is sedentary.

thats when my pain really started when i started working sitting all 8 hrs, people say sit down, to me that is worst then moving.

my job now requires walking, bending, pulling, pushing, driving, all day. But the only reason i am truly in pain is that i allowed myself to gain weight ( lost most of it ) and stopped exercising, and very importantly was not eating healthy.

People need to eat good food, vegetables, fruits, protein moderate every day, not the 16 oz steaks, lol. And exercise, STRECH BEFOR GETTING OUT OF BED. People see me and have no idea how much pain i am in.

i used to do aerobics, weight training ( not to build huge muscle just to be fit) and shito ryu style karate, my pain was there but much less. When i go to the gym i feel so good.

but since working at the airport, have no time too tired, because of weird schedule. But working on changing job, or if you cant do that then really work on planning a schedule where you can start with the thredmill and progress to other muscle building exercises.

GOOD LUCK ( after all its what we make of it) oh i did see a rheumatologist, heart specialist you name it the medicines made me more sick, so i started to feel better with eating certain foods that fight inflammation, like pineapple, ginger tea ( cut little pieces or squeeze or jus t boild the ginger in water for tea, ( reduces the depression from all ) look for food that target special places. Juicing will make easy to start getting the right stuff in, because you can make taste good by adding fruits with veggies.

love you all, Love yourself eat right , if grown up make love to shed weight and get moving!!!!!!

I have been sick since age 7. Yes, it is very possible to have fibromyalgia at age 16, and most young ladies have stopped growing by age 16.

I grew four inches between sixteen and 22. I am a healthy 55 year old woman. So what you stated is completely untrue. These things vary with each person. And ftr - 'growing pains' are real.

My brother in law is an orthopedic surgeon and he says there most certainly are 'growing pains'. It's a generalized term for the aching and sore tender points in a growing young person's joints ligaments and tendons. It can be very painful though rarely does it indicate a pathology. And I have no dog in this fight going on here but the misinformation being spouted on all sides has to be addressed. I am 55 and healthy. I grew FOUR inches between the age of 16 and 22. People stop growing when they stop growing. It's not a hard and fast number.

I was first having symptoms at age 12 and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at age 17. If you are looking for an answer and you don't feel like this pain is normal, maybe look into that.

I'm going to offer yet one more idea after reading all these blogs. Consider leaky gut. Most western doctors have a problem even thinking about it but if your body functions best when you feed it healthy food and if you're feeding it healthy food, then maybe your gut isn't functioning as it should and you're not getting the nutrition out of that food because your intestine isn't functioning the way it should . As with other responses, mine is based on my own experience. I too wake up with my muscles aching, my joints swollen and have no explanation. It's exhausting trying to convince doctors that it's not in my head, that I'm not just old (I'm 54 and continue to go to the gym everyday-it's the only thing that makes me feel better). I've been to nutritionists (he saved me the first time) and now with my feet hurting every morning and my muscles aching, I'm trying a naturopath and considering my other options. So many people on this stream in so much pain trying to find answers with so many doctors who don't care. Don't stop fighting. I had three years pain free with so much energy. That's the way it's supposed to be. Keep fighting. Keep talking about it.

To the young person who wrote wth morning stiffness, you should see a juvenile rheumatologist in case of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. The odds are way in your favor you don't have it however one blood test will tell you & you will know to start now to live your life in a manner appropriate. I wish I had done this ; it began at 8 years old. Good luck & do not listen to those who say it's growing pains. I heard the same words; it wasn't growing pains.
