I too am only 38 and ache everywhere everyday. It is much worse after sitting for any period of time. I used to be an alcoholic so I wonder if I did some damage along the way.

Absolutely NO such thing as growing pains - if there was, everyone would experience them, and they don't.. It is a "myth" label and there is zero scientific evidence to prove they are "growing pains" behind this old wive's tale. Usually such pain is a pre curser to a condition such as fibro, EDS, lupus or similar autoimmune condition residing/developing in the body.

Sweetie, you're 16. Alot of muscle pains are either from growing, or scoliosis.

Ive had muscles aches for years, with no end in sight. Its quite debilitating. I think people who keep saying stretch everyday, have never experienced pain like this.... sounds just like what the doctors say. If anyone comes up with an answer, Id love to hear it, Im starting to get depressed over the whole thing. Im not the person I used to be and Im dragging my whole family down

I have had tight muscles in my neck and shoulders causing me pain for a couple years now and my chiropractor tried several different things what felt fine for about a week then it would come back so she asked if I would mind he she tried acupuncture that was 5 months ago and not felt a thing of it since may be worth considering acupuncture to see if it works for you.

Try stretching everyday and you shouldn't have sore muscles????!!! That's idiotic. The person wouldn't be asking if this was a matter of 'stretching.' What a joke. I don't think you've experienced what this man is asking about and what others are talking about, or much else for that matter. You need to refrain from giving out advice. My muscles/tendons are so tight they feel like piano wires cranked to the point of breaking. Stretching doesn't help.

I agree with others fibromyalgia maybe, but don't stop there. Many simply accept that as a blanket response from doctors. Make sure the doc looks into everything. Nervous system disorders, extreme anxiety, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, etc.

My feet hurt like that a few years back, planters phisyitus..spelling is wrong sorry.but if u lay in bed or sit up and stretch feet by turning toes up ,you can use a towel and hook it under foot just below toes and pull back gently to stretch . Also freeze a bottled water and put it on floor sit in chair and roll your Bare foot over it . ,soak feet in warm water with Epson salt. And take anti inflammatory, like motion ,every day ,do the stretch and ice and soaks anti inflammatory meds even day .it will help alot .I promise. And get a pair of Asia gel shoes or Brooks shoes. My feet hurt so bad like I was walking on nail spikes every morning. If you don't stay consistent with what I told you and my Dr told me ,it will not go away. You can get sleep splints. Also for your feet. Google it

I have the same awful problem.i have to stretch every day all day , and my Dr put me on a low dose of cymbolta, and mobic,it helps.i notice if I have my heating blanket on in bed as soon as I cover with it it takes alot of pain away, short term. Or a hot bath is instant relief. I heard magnesium will help with this too.and calcium with vitamin D, my Dr said that joint pain relief with msm does help some ppl if you take it every day.i know a older lady that takes that every day, said if she don't then she realy noticed how it was working.

I've had all of these symptoms(since 23, now 50), plus some(severe cluster migraines, adhesive capsulitis....and so on) and know how taxing and debilitating it can be. I was a guinea pig for many doctors and hospitals, but finally got some help from Atlas orthogonal and a change in diet(always was vegetarian, but had to cut out sugars/ wheat and add Chlorella). I was in an auto accident and the symptoms just continued to get worse and worse until I took things into my own hands. Early on a doctor diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia, but I really think this is just what they tell us when they have no real idea as to what is going on with us or our bodies. After years of every new /upcoming treatment and medication, I stopped taking all meds., detoxed my body, took a few much needed supplements to help nourish and help heal my body and began searching for a treatment - both mainstream and holistic.....what I found was Atlas Orthogonal Procedure. There is no single treatment for us, but we must try to help our practitioners figure out the puzzle. I was disabled and in severe pain for over 15 years when I woke up one day and realized I didn't have a headache(a first in 15 years). There is hope, so please don't give up and yes, it can happen at 16 or 60 . I was able to connect the dots and we realized Candidiasis (diagnosed at 14 yrs of age because of classic migraines, but had no issues since) played a major roll in wreaking havoc to my body and life. I never gave up and never gave in and am truly grateful for the full, active life I now enjoy. Please be proactive in your care......it can be overwhelming at times, but you know your body best!

Best wishes to all,
Lauren

Go to Quackwatch. Click on "Fad Diagnoses". Scroll down to "Candidiasis Hypersensitivity". And to everyone who is saying something to the tune of "These doctors don't know what they're doing": These people have medical degrees. They are trained and educated. You do NOT have a medical degree. You are NOT trained and educated. Sure.. Doc's ain't God... but they're in a heck of a lot better position to tell someone what's wrong with them than YOU are. If you are having symptoms that are bad enough to interfere with your quality of life and you don't know what it is or what to do, SEE A DOCTOR.... Not every condition can be diagnosed and treated by some average Joe Schmoe with a few brain cells and an Internet connection.

I am 13, and yes obviously I am very young and this is probably growing pains as said from my family. It has become a slight concern to my mom now because its been 6months now in a row from when it started. My pain is mostly in my neck (so bad that the muscles in my throat hurt), arms hurt too as I get sharp pains, another ache I have is in my lower back. More are the tops of my feet?, and back of the legs. One thing is that I do competitive Horseback riding 3 times a week. Since I was little I did have headaches everyday at the same time 2:00pm! I don't know what to do and have been searching for answers for about a month. Please help me!
