I been having the same promblem. But I'm 36 yrs. old.. And I went to the doctor and they ran blood test and everything came back find.. It happen like this last year they found four plylups and done a DC.. The doctor promise that should help but now a year later the promblem is back..I dont know what to do.. Im scared! I just want the bleeding to stop! Me and my husband want kids..If I cant get it stop bleeding I'll never get pregent.. So help!

Stay as far as you can away from that Depo shot. I was on it 15 years ago, never had a period with it. Misses a shot got pregnant. Since she was born 14 years ago I have not been on any type of birth Control. After 7 years my period finally decided it was going to make an appearance. It came 1 to 2 times a year. Finally, about 4 months ago it decided it was going to come for 4 months straight. I went to the Dr. today and they did a PPAP smear, blood work, and tomorrow I have a ultra sound scheduled.
Anyway, I blame it all on that Depo shot as I had no issues until I got that shot.

i was on my period my self once for 3 months and 2 maybe 3 weeks at least 5 or six times a year and i am only fifteen i have found though that if you go on birth control it seems to work

hello i am 18 years old. i have a two year old daughter. i have the same problem probably even worse. i have been on my period for about 4 months now. ever since i was 10 years old i have been irregular. usually my period goes away 2-4 days and come back for months. now its been really long. i have really bad cramps and a weird smell that will not go away. i have seen alot of doctors already and they all say its all normal and give me birth control pils to stop it. and i do not want pills i know that solves it i want to know what is wrong with my body, and why i bleed so much. i am a very heavy bleeder. any suggestions on what i should do?

My periods would last much longer than usual ranging from light to extremly heavy and passing clots. I had/have no pain with it but its just so dibilitating
I went to the Dr who sent me the the GYN who suggested i needed surgery --- I had polyps. 8 weeks ago i had a Hysteroscopy, D and C, pap smear and a Polypectomy.
This surgery was supposed to fix everything. However, 4 weeks post surgery I commenced a period that has not stopped.............i am on day 34. I cant stand up without feeling like my insides a falling out, I cant sleep, I cant work for fear i will 'flood' everywhere in public and wont be ablt to find a clean toilet to use.
I am going back to the GYN next Wednesday and I expect he will tell me a need a Hysterectomy.....I am 42 so I dont mind that. I just want it to stop.

I am 19 and not over weight (maybe even under weight but not too much) and my period has been going on for over a month now. It's not too heavy or anything, it's just really annoying. And then I keep thinking that all this bleeding is destroying my ovaries and that I won't be able to have kids in the future..? Is that insane? Am i just too paranoid? And I also read all these forums and people say it might be cancer and women can die from bleeding too much? It is scaring me so much!
I also have the birth control implant. I got it over a year ago and have had no problems with it so far. Is this what's causing it?
I don't like going to the doctor (not because i'm scared, I'm just really shy and don't like to talk to people especially about things like this) Can someone please put me at ease..?

After having my period nonstop with heavy clotting and cramps for over 6 months, my doctor finally put me on depo shots. After 2 rounds of shots (another 6 months) it slowed to just spotting every day with light to medium flow every once in a while. After the 4th round of depo shots (this is now approaching 1.5 years of bleeding nonstop), I am starting to have terrible cramps and heavy clotty bleading again. I sometimes drop 1/2 cup of blood at once. I have to keep extra clothing in my bag at all times because I never know when I am going to drop enough blood to flood even over the sides of a large pad. I wear tampons and pads 24/7 and am sick of it. 3 Doctors have refused to give me a hysterectomy. I don't know what to do next. I am not overweight and am active in a competitive, physical sport.

Just a thought -- are you sure your hormone levels are right? Do you think it may be excess estrogen due to , let's say, your contact with pesticides, plastics, or other toxic chemicals that turn to estrogen in a woman's body? Just a thought. Hope it works out for you.

I live in NYC and eat almost all organic so am not in contact with pesticides. The Dr's have said it is probably hormones but the depo shot was supposed to fix it.
Update though....my GYN has finally agreed to remoce my obviously dysfunctional uterus. Oh happy day. I am 43, had my tubes tied 10 years ago and am so happy I won't have to suffer from this any longer.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS YOU ALL HAD FOR 10+ YEARS. I would bleed for 30 or 40 days straight. Couldn't get it to stop, month after month. Might finally stop for a week or two - then 30 to 40 more days of bleeding :(
