I dont mean happy in a negative way by any means but your post along with others on this sight made me feel i am not alone. I dont know where to begin i have been on my period since oct 2016 it stopoed for two earlier this month and its back i found a great phycision she made me feel like she cared and wanted to help they did a pelvic exam alot of blood wrk ,an ultrasoumd and an emdometriosos biopsy but she had to refer me to a specialist. I had to wait weeks for results with there being of cancer finally see the specialist spent bout a hour repeating everything i told my dr they said we think its pcos but going to refer u to another specialist sucks because again i had hope they would give me medicine and make it go away all results came back negative n took more blood a few more weeks went by before i could see the fertility specialist and it was the worst ecperience i spent over another hr explaing everything i had told the previous two dr and she said i was obese and that was the problem i have no words to describe how i felt. I tried explaining all the changes i had made n everything i had tried to loose wght but said i was obese and she couldnt help until i lost weight we started bumping heads she kept cutting me off and said if u have tried everything to loose weight i can recommend u for surgery and do more test but cant help you dur to ur weight. She said even after the test they could cross stuff off the list but wouldnt be able to help me. I walked out of there freling lost and hopeless im 36 and have not been able to get pregnant an now this problem with my period that wont stop and all the drs ive ever seen for my problems dismiss me because im overweight.

I was having a period that wouldn't stop, so I used a vitamin E based progesterone and my period stopped the next day. It's called Progest E and I bought it online from a company in Oregon. It's sold in a few different places, online, but that one had the best prices. It has also helped me with hot flashes, menstrual cramps, and those types of perimenopausal symptoms. I'm 42 also.

I feel your pain! I am 52 and have had unusually heavy periods for about 2 years (but never long). I also just thought this was part of peri menopause and never mentioned it to my dr. My last period started out as usual and got lighter but wouldn't stop. I made an app with my GP and by the time I got in I had been bleeding for almost 5 weeks and was really "done" (I even cried in the office),

She prescribed me progesterone to try to jump start my hormones but lamented that it probably wouldn't work. She also said the heavy bleeding (over the last two years) and clotting had most likely made me iron deficient and had me take an iron supplement. She also scheduled me for a transvaginal ultrasound (I have good insurance). it took 2 weeks to get in for the ultrasound. The progesterone did stop the bleeding for about 7 days but it is now back.

I got a call the the ultrasound showed a thickening of the uterine lining (pre-cancerous?) and was referred to a gynecologist.. I can't get in there for 3 more weeks! I'm still bleeding! My GP is on vacation for 2 weeks. Im really having a hard time dealing with this!

Then you need to go back to your dr, your bc is not the right one. If its too much progesterone then you will bleed, might need one with more estrogen.

The reason why your ex obgyn said it was weight related is because obesity directly affects hormones. hormones control your period length duration and severity. Add in anemia and possible low thyroid function and it can become a never ending rollercoaster that only gets harder as time goes on. Not trying to sound mean or rude but his diagnosis was to rule out the largest possible factor first. WEIGHT. Lose a MINIMUM of 10% of your body weight and track your period and symptoms. What have you got got to lose other than weight and possibly a severe period problem that is affecting your life and everyone around you. Choose to be miserable or DO SOMETHING about it! Getting butthurt over a doctor telling you to lose weight is just pointless. Your doctor is trying to help you.

Same for me, only mine is worse! I bled for almost all of 2017! Except September when I had an ultrasound and didn't bleed for 6 weeks. Then end of October had an endometrial biopsy which thankfully came back negative for any cancer, but I've been bleeding since. I'm always told it's PCOS and to stay on the pill. I want to start a family, so that's not an option. Btw I'm 31 and have been off the pill 2 years. Help!

I'm 45 years old, and have non stop period for several months. I don't know if it is the menopause because I never had hot flashes.
