My son is 5 and has a low fever, tiny red spots on the back of his throat, and its very painfull. Any ideas???

yes it could be strep throat. go and get a strep throat culture done. if it is negative ask for the swab to cultured and the bacteria tested for the type of antibiotic its most sensitiver to. this is called a culture and sensitivity. this will allow the doctors to know what type of antibiotic is most effective and how much medicine to give. make sure yo ugive 100% of the medicine so that the bacteria does not come back and the antibiotice becomes ineffective.
