I was diagnosed with myoclonus last December. I had fasciculations, cramping, and spasms, asthma from allergies and low iron. The asthma and allergies are treated with Azmacort, Servent, Provental, and I was given an IV of iron because the iron was not being absorbed after 5 months of iron pills. The neurologist did an EMG, EEG, MRI of the thoracic and lumbar and other various blood works which all were normal. So I take Clonazapam, and baclofin which has reduced the magnitude of the symptoms but not gotten rid of them. The fasciculations get worse at rest, but occur all day. Can I have myoclonus and fasciculations? They are very different.

You can have both myoclonus and fasciculations, and they are very different. No idea why, but I’ve Been diagnosed with both as distinct entities. Have dizziness and a host of other symptoms. My only finding is an arachnoid cyst, small, EMG abnormal for benign fasciculations and Myoclonus visible to neurologists, and induceable with ankle tapping. Tranquillizers help mine a lot, although I am sure they are not stress induced.
