I have not had a good night's sleep in months now! I get up at 7 to go to work and go to bed at a reasonable time with my partner every night. However, after a few hours of tossing and turning, I normally decide that I failed again, and I get up to read a book or watch tv. It's not until 3am or even later that I finally manage to fall asleep. This is affecting my work in a bad way and I am not a fun person to be around any more either. What natural cure can I try for insomnia?

How about herbal calming remedies, such as valerian or even rescue remedy? I don't think you should be watching any television or engage in any other activity that wakes the brain up either. But that is something I am saying just because I read this can be bad for insomniacs once.
