I am having the same symptoms. The nurse is saying she have never heard of this happened but this is my second injection. I felt so bad I could not get out of bed to make it to bathroom. Could not even eat for four days. Also, ER for severe headaches too. Better after 7days. Took some antacid , gasx, powder aid to drink. Hope you feel better.

Tomorrow is 10 days for me since my Epidural Injection in L5 and S1. I have had the diarrhea since then. Had so much back pain and tenderness in the kidney area. That however is now gone. I also had so many sleepless nights. Im up a lot at night normally but that injection jolted my system with this symptom for almost an entire week. Still have the diarrhea though.

I have the same symptoms. My diarrhea has been going on for over 4 weeks. Had stool samples done. Nothing. Had colonoscopy and am waiting for the results. Still have diarrhea. Started out more watery and didn't change until I took some Immodium at the suggestion of my Gastroenterologist. Even with that, I still have diarrhea. I don't know what to do at this point. Scared.

I have the same thing going on. It's horrible. It's been going on for about 6 weeks of this. If you can let me know what you find out.

Yeah the Imodium hasn't helped me at all. Mostly I'm just frustrated with the inconvenience of it all. I don't even want to think about there being something seriously wrong.

I finally went to my doctor. She seems to think it might be C. Diff. Doing the stool sample thing this weekend

From what I have read if the wrong disc or nerve is affected it can cause people to loose control of bowel and bladder function. It might be a good idea to talk to a different spine specialist for a second opinion as to if their is a possible connection. Good luck

I had my first cortisone shot in hip yesterday afternoon. Starting at 10:30 pm last night I started to have nausea, bad intestinal cramping and pain and explosive watery diarrhea. This has gone on for 12 hours. Needless to say, I haven't slept all night. I can't even keep s little bit of gaterade and 2 saltines inside of me. Now of course I have a headache too. Wasn't able to find anything online about this being a side effect of the cortisone until I came across this site. I am a 70 y/o woman and I need to take daily levothyroxine (my thyroid and 2 parathyroids removed years ago) and I have been off my warfarin for 6 days due to the shot and need to get back on it asap but everything just flies right through me. I am about to call my MD but I'm sure he will say this is not caused by the cortisone. Thank you all for sharing your experiences.

I had a cortisone shot in my knee 5 months ago and I had diarrhea for four weeks. I told my doctor and he acted like he was not aware of that as a side effect of it. my knee sure felt better though.
