I have been having similar problems. I'm only 14, female and these "episodes" just suck. i can sort of tell when they come, because i get massive headaches. in between times i get dizzy, shakey, i forget things easily. i cant stay focused on anything. i feel like i could puke, everything is dizzy. laying down hurts, i cant lay down because it just makes my headaches stronger and it makes me want to vomit more.
does anyone know what this is? please tell me my email is
PLEASE tell me, this isnt fun. and i have school, i'm only 14 for goodness sakes.

Hi there,
I'm a 20 year old female and I just came across this post. I noticed there aren't any updates so I am hoping maybe you have an update on your status?

I have been dealing with chronic nausea, vomiting & pain for about two years as well now. I can no longer go out, have people over (well who wants to have company when you are chronically sick)

I remember the first day it happened - I was on my computer working when all of a sudden I became very sick and nauseous. Growing up, I suffered from frequent motion sickness when driving, but this subsided as I reached my older teens. At first I thought I was just hungry, so I took a break and laid down and eventually the feeling went away.

It has only gotten worse since. The feeling used to hit me once a day, gradually finding its way into my mornings and nights. Then it became progressively worse. I began actually vomiting, having diarrhea 5-15 times per day, lots of abdominal pain, cramping, etc. I can no longer work (I had a successful business I can no longer even run, I am losing my house to this!)

I have been hospitalized 5+ times. Here is my workup. I didn't get a feel for what all tests all of you have had done, but I thought I'd share mine and hopefully I can hear back from you.

I have had blood tests, parasite tests (not sure if he tested for all, I do know he ruled a couple stomach parasites out, though this *could still be a possibility???*), tested for Celiac, had an stomach endoscopy/biopsy as well, colonscopy, CAT Scans and MRI's of my stomach, pelvis & even my head. I was diagnosed with IBS in September 2009 and decided to go with the doctors advice, though I was sure it wasn't IBS - after all, the vomiting was ALWAYS happening, regardless of what I ate.

Anyways, I dieted & ate nothing but healthy (chicken, rice, veggies, fruits, etc...nothing junk at all!) I ended up losing about 25-30 pounds just from changing my diet, which I was happy about - but my symptoms had not let up.

I was hospitalized 4 times after September 2009. I am back on a normal diet, though it's not very normal. Yesterday I ate a 1/4 of a chicken breast and got sick three times later through the night. I am only on two hours of sleep now. Some days are worse than others, and even with a food journal and symptom journal, nothing seems to ease it.

I began smoking pot because of the nausea, which helped tremendously at first - but then after numerous hospital visits and the doctors filling me with $500 medicine a month (I had to take 10 meds a day, and more than half were 4 times daily, it was ridiculous) - I believe one of the "Anti Anxiety" meds I was on really may have changed the way my brain reacts to Marijuana, making it less efficient. Though I also may have a higher tolerance now. Marijuana was not my first resource - My family was not very open to this at all (of course, neither was I at first) - but after seeing me suffer for so long, they would rather me pay for that than switching 5+ medicines a month every month. I was creatively drained and my sickness never ceased with all of the medicines they had me on.

At first I tried everything in my power. Of course like I said, diet - but also anti nausea meds (Dramamine, Liquid, etc.) - Anti Nausea Wristbands (for motion sickness), Pepto, Peppermint Oil/Peppermint Tea - to no avail.

I was on the "Cancer Patient's Special" so to speak when it comes to nausea. I was prescribed Promethazine, Reglan, Nulev, Ondansetron and a few more before. The doctor had me on anti anxiety/&depressants, but those also made me feel numb, and brought me no relief, even after allowing the time they needed to settle in.

Every time I have been in the hospital, the doctors tell me there is really nothing significant that is wrong.
Well, I just recently received my records from September 2009 (after I went to the hospital for another trip this April [2010])

& within them it does in fact state I have an Enlarged Spleen, as well as "Questionable Para-pelvic Cysts" on my left kidney.
I'm really at a loss here - we have really exhausted all of our options. All this while, I cannot get covered by insurance because a doctor diagnosed me with IBS and it is now a 'pre-existing condition'. It's so aggravating! Well, no time to vent about that.

I am hoping maybe one of you have an update on your status/how this problem was solved for you.
I do have one thing that happened to me about the time I began getting sick (it was March 2009) - I had my first Gynecologist visit and was put on Yaz birth control. My periods have always been extremely heavy and immobilizing up until Yaz - Yaz made them lighter and easier to handle, and they were on time. However, my nausea and sickness began shortly after the Yaz. Not sure if it's pure coincidence, but I thought it might be worth posting.

My doctors took me off Yaz at the hospital on my first visit in September 2009 (so I was on Yaz from March-September, 6 months without complications, spotting, pregnancy, etc.) - But the symptoms have only gotten worse, so in ways I am iffy about wondering if it is Yaz.

Well thank you so much for any advice/input you may have from here.
I wish you all the best of luck - I know what kind of hell it puts you through.

Thanks everyone.

I would just like to comment on the vomiting. I saw a post, the top one on the second page? Um, vomiting so much isn't that great for you. The acid c**p in your vomit can end up ruining your teeth. If you vomit a LOT you can /rupture/ your esophagus.

I'm 21 and my boyfriend & I recently brokeup afterr 3 years, we still were having sex the first week we brokeup. We last had sex the last day of my period last thrusday. The jerkoff busted on my vagina area. Not really thinking much of it because I was on my period it really didn't bother me. It's now a week later and everytime I go eat I wanna throwup, my lower stomach hurts, I keep getting random head aches and all I wanna do is cuddle up and sleep. The middle of my back hurts also,& it may sound crazy but I always feel like I gotta go the bathroom, with both areas. I'm not really sure what's wrong with me but I can't tell my mother, or my ex because I don't wanna worry either one them and say something because I also have a heart problem. I keep checking my temp and it stays around 97.3ish. Helpppp!!!! What can be causing this?

I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder when I was 18. Since then I've been prescribed anti-anxiety medication, one of them being Xanax as needed. I'm very happy to say that I don't need it as much anymore, but I do still have an occasional attack.  ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed***
When I read about emetophobia, I thought to myself "This is ME". It was nice to know I wasn't the only one that had these thoughts and symptoms. There are many techniques available to help yourself through anxiety and any phobia-related anxiety. Some of them being positive affirmations, changing your thinking (it's hard but can be done with dedicated practice), visualization (extremely helpful), talking your fears out with a confidant, and of course medication. Sometimes medication is needed mostly in the beginning to help you along your healing journey. Otherwise, the fear and anxious thoughts will hinder any positive thinking.

Research, research, research. Knowledge is POWER.
I hope this helps. Best of luck, I know you can make it! If I can, you can too. There IS HOPE!

about once a month i wake up sick as a dog. i am 25 going on 26 and its been like this for the past year or 2. i am a pretty healthy person, i eat healthy for the most part (i do sometimes splurge but i dont over do it), i'm at a healthy weight (not over weight, not under weight), i try to exercise at least once a week no matter what it is, i am a smoker (about a 1/2 pk to a pk a day), i have good teeth, i do not drink alcohol (been this way for the past 3 1/2 yrs since i had my daughter - had horrible morning sickness throughout the whole pregnancy [lost 15-20 lbs 1st trimester, ended up in emergency room 2x from dehydration, etc etc etc] so my stomach doesnt tend to handle the alcohol very well hence the reason i dont drink), i do have the Mirena and have had it for the past 3 yrs with no complications that i am aware of, i get headaches quite often BUT none of this is relevant to the reason i wake up sick.....

i can go to bed the night before and feel great but sometime between 4 & 6 am, it wakes me up with my stomach hurting and feeling like i'm gonna be sick. i fight the feeling of throwing up for as long as i can. sometimes after i throw up i feel better but not usually. its usually only a day that i feel this way but it seems to be happening more often here recently. i finally decided enough is enough and thought maybe i could look this c**p up online and see what it might be. i did have gastroenteritis back around thanksgiving of 2009 and since then is when all this started happening. i'm not sure if it is related or not but i am so sick and tired of feeling sick. i dont get any kind of tingling or anything like that, just throwing up about once a month or now about 2-3 times a month.....

it wouldnt be so bad but i can be in a deep sleep and it will wake me up. it only happens in the morning time. a family member said that it could be an accumulative effect on something in food like an allergy. they said that what can happen is this: your body changes about every 7 yrs - tastes in food (etc.), that sort of thing. they think that it might be (maybe in my case, dunno) that an accumulation of, say for instance salt, salt building up in my system and once it reaches its limitations of that salt intake it can make u sick. kind of like being lactose intolerant. your body can only handle so much.......IDK if it has anything to do with that, or what but somethings gotta give. i really hope its not something like the gastroenteritis.....

if anyone can help, that would be great! feeling sick today so going back to bed.....

I am no doctor but I can tell you one thing about my situation and maybee help you guys out. I had the same issues and nearly all the same symtoms. I believe it all starts from not eating correctly resulting in a loss of appetite and damage to stomach nervs. Have you ever not eaten all day (before you were sick) and you became sick? That can start a chain reaction of problems like nausia and all your other symtoms as well. I have a great doctor and he advised me about medical marijuanna after discovering the cause of my affliction. Let me tell you it has solved all my appetite problems thus relieving me of my other problems that were a result of not being able to eat. Malnourishment is what you have due to an appetite disorder caused by damaged nerves in your stomach that determine wether your brain needs to now to eat or not. Medical Marijuanna is easy to get. You can get a card for 50.00 from a a certified clinic. Then you just go to your local disspencery and buy from anywhere from 10.00 a gram to 30.00 a gram. Try it it will be the best relief you could imagine. What do you have to loose? You can also learn to grow it legally that way it becomes alot less expensive. Any way this helped me will it help you I do not know. Each human body is different and reacts different so Im just sharing what healed me and returned me to a normal life. It even helped me with my gout as well when it flared up. OK then best of luck.

Look into pernicious anemia, B12 disorder. Its a blood disorder. I was sick for 2.5 years when I was 21 years old, and dropped out of college and lost years of my life to this. The episodes I would have sound like some of the ones you women are experiencing, and it is such an easy test to have your doctor take.

It may be stress because im only 14 & ive been dealing with this for a year . I feel tired all the time , Im a very bad nemick , I feel like throwing up but I cant & I can only eat 2 meals a day & sometimes I wouldnt eat for a few days & not evn notice & im very weak . But when I freshly 13 yrs old I never had this problem . I used to be able to eat how much I liked which was proly 5 meals a day , I wouldnt feel tired &when I felt like throwing up I could . But then I started getting really stress over things that I shouldnt be stressing myself over . So I think its stress & btw when I had my period it was full & bright red . Now its hardly & it looks brown like dried up blood . So it may be stress.

Hi I have the same exact thing as you, without the tingling feeling, i only get that in my feet when i walk for a long time. I cant drink either or I will throw up and one doctor thought my gallbladder was the reason i was vomiting and i had gallbladder out, then a doctor thought it was my appendix so i got my appendix out. The vomiting has not stopped and it has been 1 and a half years. I am 19 years old also. I have Polycystic Ovaries, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and I've fainted 3 times since the vomiting started and have been anemic. I vomit almost every single morning and usually at least 3 or 4 times. I have those symptoms and also before i vomit im sweating and burning hot and after i have chills and my teeth chatter i am so Freezing. I just started a new job and it makes it really difficult to show up when I feel like this. The only thing I can relate to this is something called CYCLIC VOMITING SYNDROME. There is an association and everything. I feel like it is almost like a cover name for people like us with this horrible situation, because no doctor can figure it out. I have seen around 6-8 doctors for this and not ONE has an explanation fo the vomiting, or fainting. My parents split up when I was 10 yrs old and I experienced something similar that my mom kept saying was just the stomach flu. I had all the symptoms of the stomach flu except for the fever. Im guessing the two situations are connected. But this time I have no Traumatic Event to Connect this with.
