I recently got on suboxone for a pain management program....neck injury 5 years ago and now i've decided to say screw it and get off of the suboxone and back on pain meds...sick of being in pain. i am however prescribed to a lower does (7.5 lorcet) okay, here's my question: I was taking two 8mg suboxone daily for about a month. I recently went down to just one 8mg a day. I stopped all together about three days ago. I waited 2 days to start taking the lorcet. I'm not feeling any better!! The pain is still here and it's worse because I feel like I'm withdrawing. Is it messing up my "waiting" for suboxone to get out of my system by still taking the lorcets?? or should I wait a day or two and try again???? thanks for any advice!!

if lorcet is an opiate then suboxone, i think latches to different pain receptors and works differently, again not too sure of the name suboxone, presume it is the same as subutex in the uk, is it a melt under the tongue opiod? if so then that's maybe why your getting no relief yet and suffering from the withdrawal symptoms too?
cheers

Hi gordlaw, Subutex is not the same as Suboxone.

Go ahead and take the Suboxone now. If you had taken 10 lorcet then you would have to wait 12 hours.
