New really heavy bleeding 2 weeks after medical abortion

I don't know but there's not enough facts out there. I had the MA on the 15th of March 2017. Worst mistake ever. Been 6 weeks far. Was told it would be like a normal period just heavier and I will not see anything passing. The horror!! I could see the tissue. The grey sack was evident. I had the same pain if not worst than normal vaginal birth. It's 2 weeks later after stage 2 and morphine but I'm still cramping like in labour and is passing clots the size of golf balls every time I move too much or too fast. I started having a slow dowe in my flow but for the past 2 days I had brown discharge and suddenly this morning I started passing clots cramping and bleeding fiercely. Is there anyone that cano be honest and say own long this will last as it appears only those with a problem are coming forward.

Do we have an infection or is this normal?

I had a abortion going on 4 weeks now took the pill 4 hours later was cramping bleeding passing big clots as can be exspected really after 2 days bleeding calmed down bleeding for the next 3 weeks nothing very much some days hardly anything blood starting going a brownish colour with a discharge mixed in thought I was finally going to stop woke up the next morning I wash bleeding so heavy with massive clots orange sized as I stood up for next couple of days blood would just gush out of me lost so much blood I felt teririble went deathly pale because of blood loss I went to the a&e twice they gave me a course of amoxicillin and sent me home twice I felt so I'll this was going on 4 days of heavy bleeding now was told to attend my follow up appointment at the clinic as that's were I had the abortion done they would not scan me or anything disgusted I was with them I had to wait 2 days for my check up appointment they scanned me told me there was no fetus retained as hospital thought and gave me a combination of metronidazole and doxycycline which hospital should have gave me as these antibiotics treat bacteria infection it's been 5 days since I started taking the antibiotics and I'm thankfully feeling so so much better still bleeding and clotting a little bit but it's not bad and seems to be getting better each day hopefully but I really don't think the clinics or medical staff that have been very informative or much help I thought I was going to die at one point with how much blood I was losing and big clots but no one reassured me or helped very much when I went back to the clinic I was told to take the antibiotics if that didn't work there was basically nothing they could do go to a&e they didn't know if they didn't work what a joke and a&e were telling me to go back to the clinic because they were the ones that treated me in the end I felt like I didn't want to go back anywhere even if I bleed to death seriously were told to look out for infection which I definitely now think I had but when we present the care team with this they tell you they don't know and this could be normal wtf but no one tested me for infection or anything bloods were only done on first initially visit to hospital im literally appalled at the after care but girls if your heavily bleeding and big clots weeks later I would definitely go to your doctor you need antibiotics hopefully this is going to stop this bleeding some time soon I will update

I had a medical abortion almost 3 weeks ago (3 days shy). I had almost no bleeding the first 2-3 days. Then for the next two weeks it fluctuated from brown spotting to moderate bleeding, back and forth. However, as of the last 24+ hours... I have been bleeding VERY heavily and passing small-large clots. If I sit on the toilet, bright red (somewhat mucousy) blood just drips. I spent an hour on the toilet just sobbing and bleeding. This has just been a really long and horrific process. My three week follow up this upcoming week. This forum put my mind slightly at ease, knowing that so many people are going through the same thing. It'd be nice to see some update posts though to know what ended up happening. The range on what's "normal" is just far too large and I'm having a hard time not worrying or panicking!

I've had similar problems and it's so good to find a fairly recent thread.

I had a medical abortion nearly three weeks ago now, after the initial bleeding it settled into a heavy period type bleed for a week, then just spotting for a week or so and now I've started having heavy bright red and large clots.

I tested positive on the pregnancy test though but I can't contact the clinic for a couple of days yet as they're not open. BPAS is supposed to have 24hr helpline but they just told me to ring the clinic which isn't open.

How did you all get on in the end?

Girls please let me just tell you this. I had a medical termination 2 weeks ago and found this page because I was having the same symptoms as you all. I stayed at home and didn't alert anyone and in the end I was rushed to hospital with blue lights because I lost so much blood I was drifting in and out of consciousness and my blood pressure got so low I was passing out. I ended up having surgery and a blood transfusion and I am very unwell. Please please if you feel unwell seek medical attention straight away it's so much better to be safe than sorry. Hello I had a surgical abortion last Tuesday, I didn't bled at all! Then last night I started bleeding bright red blood and dark clots keep getting bad pains in tummy. Is this normal? X

Hey there I had a medical abortion about two weeks ago and I’ve been bleeding on and off since then sometimes not at all and sometimes large clots but today I’ve been bleeding for about two hours and I’m passing large clots consistently now it stopped a little bit but every time I stand up I keep pouring out blood I don’t know what to do any help?

It’s been 20 days. I ended up in hospital about 11 days after my medical abortion and they gave me more misoprosal to get more tissue out and anti biotics due to seriously heavy bleeding and massive clots. Everything calmed down then flared with clots and heavy bleeding 5 days later. Day 20 and it’s randomly flared up after pretty much disappearing grrrrr. I am going to see if I can get another ultra sound.
