this exact same thing is happening to me now. Since your post was over a year ago, I was wondering what happened to you or what caused it?
I was on the pill for a year, went off of it last March in 2011. I had my period normally for a few months. It then just disappeared. I would get it every month around the same time, but only spotting. very very light spotting.
I got a regular period in January, this year, 2012. But now, in February, it has returned to nothing.
Please if you can, let me know what I can do..Im scheduled to see a doctor on Monday, but I am really curious and worried.
Thanks

With me, just to recap as I cannot see my old post.... So i went on the pill in late 2008 november until late may i think 2010... so a year and a half. I went off it to conceive and did NOT get one single period or spotting for exactly 9 months, then in late january 2011, I got my first period after the 9 months. It was a normal period, then ever since then, I would skip every few months up to two months at a time, I was all over the show. sometimes I was just spotting like you mentioned. I just started to get "normal" periods in August 2011 then september was so light and only for a few days like spotting then October was a good one then then I had spotting in november, for one day! Then again in January and literally just got a normal period again two weeks ago. In the meantime I had bloodwork for my hormones and everything was balanced and I am definately putting it down to yasmin becaause before all this, I was as regular as they come. every 28 days for 5-7 days! So, since then, it's been irregular. :) hope this helps. any more questions, ask away! ;)

I used Yasmin for a couple months and then stopped when I was 18. I'm now 24 have yet to have a period naturally. I have been to a doctor and she prescribed me more Yasmin. She said to take it, if I had my period, then I'm fine. She told me a period isn't medically necessary so I've never really worried about it, but I have been seeing commercials on TV about a class action law suit against Yasmin for causing heart attacks, strokes, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary, embolism, blood clots in the legs and lungs, cardiac arrhythmia, gallbladder disease, kidney failure, and sudden death.

I'm not sure what I am supposed to do. If I take Yasmin, I get my period. If I don't then I don't get it. I wonder how I would ever get pregnant when I am ready to have a baby if I don't get a period. It's been 4 years since my last period...

Started using Yasmin three years ago, I am now 20. The first year using yasmin was great, acne cleared up, menstrual cramps died down, and of course, lowered my chances of getting preg.  The last year that I was taking it, it started to really turn on me. I started getting headaches, my mood swings were out of control and I was developing IBS or Crohn's like symptoms. It was embarrassing, hurt a lot and was starting to effect my social life.  So I stopped taking the pill in January of this year (2012), had the regular blood shed after about 2 days. Felt great, all my headaches and symtoms stopped within a couple days. Acne came back though, wamp wamp. The following week was about the time to get my period, I did - but very light, which I expected.  It's now April and I haven't had a period since. I know I'm not pregnant since I haven been sexually active for a while. I feel Yasmin has really f***** with my body.

ive noticed that most of the girls dont keep updating there situación, so ill update, maybe it can be helpfull for someone. Well i got my period at last, it came 1 week and a half late. this is the second period after stopping yasmin and its taking longer every time for it to come. I read about this girl who got her period for 3 months and then it stopped coming, so that could still happen. But im pretty happy that my period came, it could be worse. it guess every body is different and will react differently to this time of medicines. Ill update if my period dosent show up again, allthough i reallhy hope that dosent happen. I wish to all of you best of luck.

So, went on the pill when I was 17 for my skin in high school. I am now almost 22. I went off it last year just before I turned 21, and I haven't had my period since.

It's confusing because some of you post that your GP has said anywhere up to a year is normal, where as when I mentioned it passingly to a doctor about 5 months ago she seemed very surprised like it was completely abnormal and unheard of.

So many of you have the same problem with the exact same type of pill.

I was on brenda and yasmin I was told they were the same thing......

Anyway, I guess I'm going to the dr to get "blood work" done or whatever - I am petrified of that it's a real phobia of mine so I'm really upset about it but my skin has been horrible since I went off the pill and I am also concerned about having PCOS or something.

Has anyone gotten their period back after a year without medical intervention? Has anyone been diagnosed with PCOS or something else?

Thanks for this thread though, it makes me feel as though I am not completely abnormal and I'm not going to be diagnosed with something terrible.

Sometimes Yasmin can shut off the hypothalamic/pituitary/ovary axis. Ask your doc to do preg test and then prescribe Provera 10 mg for ten days. You may not have ovulated all this time. If you haven't ovulated, your period may be very heavy. How old are you?

I went to my doctor to discuss this issue since reading these posts. I was advised that the brown discharge i was/am experience for a couple of days a month is actually sounding like my period but it is very very scant because I was on the pill for 5 years and I started at a very young age. She was surprised I was given the pill at that age without having further explanation of what it actually meant.

I have horrible acne again and I can't keep living like this. So I am trying to give this antibiotic gel a go but I really doubt it will work since the issue is hormonal.

I will either be going back onto the pill but a low dosage one (Loette) or I will be contacting a skin specialist to get put on to roaccutane.

My doctor said I could have bloodwork done if I wanted to but it was not urgent. She did not seem overly worried.

I have been on the BCP for 15 years (aged 16 to 31!).  I was on Microgynon for 10 years and Yasmin for 5 years with no adverse side effects.  I stopped taking the pill mid May as I decided that 15 years on the pill is enough and I should allow my body a break....plus hoping to start a family in the next few years.  When stopping the pill I had the usual breakthrough period lasting about 7 days.  After this it took 7 weeks for another period to come and it only lasted 3 days.  Who knows when the next one will arrive but it's interesting to see that everyone on this post seems to have very different experiences!

Before going on the pill I had ok skin however when I came off the pill in May I noticed my skin became very oily and I got a lot of spots.  I have however been able to get rid of the spots and keep my skin under control using a facewash and toner with an active ingrediant called Chlorhexidine Gluconate.  In the UK you can buy a product called 'Cepton' with this in and I really have found that with regular use this has worked really well for me.
