I have the same problem. I'm a 24 paramedic, I've never had this experience before with patients that I've come across. I had this when I was a kid, probably once a month. I would have numbness and tingling that would start in my feet and move up my leg into my abdomen, then into my mouth then disappear. After all this I would get a server migraine, light sensitivity, and vomiting. Havn't been to the ER yet, thinking of going.

This is my first time using this system, but as so many people seem to be having the same problem I thought I would make some comments. Scripts Clinic in California has stated that there is now enough evidence to suggest that 1/3 of the US population is currently pre-diabetic and 80 million suffer with some form of neuropathy. Since neuropathy is one major area of concern with diabetes, I suggest that you might want to e checked for diabetes. If tests show high blood pressure, heart disease, high cholesterol, kidney disease, etc. ask to be checked further for diabetes. It is often missed and treatment is given for the symptom rather than the cause.
I have a simple test that can be done at home if anyone would like me to e-mail a copy just call me at 403-380-3764. (mountain time zone)

Newbie mentioned that she drinks a lot of diet pop and is having serious health issues. That could well be contributing to the problem as most of the sugar substitutes, other that Stevia which is natural, are like putting poison in our bodies. They also cause weight gain, rather than helping with weight loss. She also said she is trying B12. The most effective way to take B12 is sublingually (dissolved under the tongue) as B12 is increasingly more difficult to absorb as we age.
Again, I would suggest being checked for diabetes.

I have the following symptoms: wake up in the middle of the night with left hand tingling, feeling senseation significantly reduced. I realize the arm position is bent at the elbow, hand under the pillow. After lying on my back I strech the arm an tingling starts to go away. I also find that when I am driving, if I put my elbow on the window sill where the indentation of the elbow is sitting on the corner of the sill. This position alos seems to bring on the symptoms.
Yes I am a computer professional at age 50. Last 12 months I had a mouse elbow on my right arm, so I moved the mouse left about 10 months ago. Mouse elbow has improved by 25% but I still have a long way to go, Banging on the key board with right middle finger compounds the pain.
Prior to the onset of the tingling we replaced our matters to a softer mattres. I am highly suspecting the mattress is not providing sufficient support to my spine causing the shoulders to roll. I suspect this is due tp my body weight 250lb with 6' height. With the shoulders rolled, I am suspecting the nerves are getting compressed.
Could everyone on this thread start putting probable actions and reasons for these symptoms to see if we can figure out some common causes besides "computers"
Thanks.

A lot of people here are writing useless and scary information. Please don't get too worried. Most of the people here probably just hit their funny bone and don't remember

Hi,
I've been waking up with my pinky and ring finger on my left hand numb. As soon as I move my hand the feeling returns. Although I'm more aware of that arm for a while if that makes sense. (That could also be me freaking out a little.)
I am actually a type I (juvenile) diabetic but when I spoke to my endocrinologist (diabetic dr) he said it wasn't diabetes related and mentioned carpal tunnel. From what I gather, this is more likely to affect the middle and index fingers.
I DO have a terrible habit of leaning on my left arm when relaxing and sometimes it does go numb and I also use a computer a lot and (due to being diabetic) drink a lot of diet soft drinks.
Has anyone been to a dr with these types of symptoms and been given a difinitive diagnosis?
Thanks!

I actually went to my doctor when I first started feeling that tingling/numbness in my pinky. My doctor told me almost word for word what Bo Tingles said. She also gave me some muscle relaxers which took the tingling feeling away completely which just proves Bo Tingles point even more. Hope this is useful.

I have also had numbness on my left side. It started less then a week ago, right after I got done working out. But also, I was taking a drug called flagal. It does say one of the side effects is numbness of the arms and tingling and burning feeling, but its just on the one side, could this be from this drug flagal? A month ago I had stress test and an echo cardiogram so I don't believe this is heart related, its just very annoying to me. does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

If you have any numbness or tingling sensations, it could very well be a circulation problem. Try doing deep breathing excersises and excersise these parts reguarly. Try getting into a yoga class, it helps with circulation, breathing, and nerve problems.

I agree with the comment about useless and scary information.
The tingling and numbness is from pressure on the ulnar nerve which is located at the elbow. Simple as that. You might have a calcium or bone growth at the elbow joint.
Pay no attention to the drama queens.

My father last night had some strange numbness and uncomfortable level on his left side. Spread quite a bit but was more centralized on his arm. I have a question for you guys. Are you guys taking any sort of medication. The most common symptom to most ADULT males or females are side affects of medication they are taking. You should definitely look into that and also. Signs of depression and anxiety attack will cause numbness to the body... I think what you experienced was an Anxiety attack. Shortness of breath...etc
thanks
