Hi . I`m 42 years old and suffer from cystic fibrosis. I had a 80% of Numothroax and a tube in for a 4 weeks. It got repeated, now with only 20% Numothroax and my condition has not improved. My doctor told me that I will have to go for an operation.

Hi. A friend of mine had that operation. The doctor told him that he will have to stuck his lung to the chest wall to prevent a further numothorax, with a general anatetic. They made 3 holes in his chest and put a a tube down his throat. The chest tube will be in for the duration of the surgery and there is also the ventilator tube in your throat which will come out after the surgery. He said that it was quite a good, but very painful procedure.
