I hope there is someone out there that can help, I was born with one lung and have suffered with respiratory problems all my life but I am now 20 and 3 months pregnant, I just need to know how I am going to give birth. Doctor's seem baffled and I get passed from one to another, I know it's not going to be straight forward but I just want to know if there is anyone out there with one lung that has had a baby? Any help would be appreciated

I am 70 years old.  I was born with one lung.  I am missing my left lung.

I gave birth to a daughter at 36 yrs old (natural delivery) and twin boys at 39 years old ( by c-section).  They are in their 30's now and very fit.

When I was 45 yrs old I started masters swimming etc and this keeps me pretty fit, considering.

My medical record shows asthma and COPD, but I rarely use any inhalers.

Only recently have I started talking about my missing lung, and seeing if there are any other people out there like me (as all the docs etc had never met anyone like me before) so this web site is interesting to me now.

The missing lung was discovered in 1959 or so.  The docs figured out why I had such an unusual xray when I was 11 years old and got permission from my Mom to put my xray in the medical books.

In 2005 I also had double brain aneurism surgeries and am doing fine.
