I am curious as to the circumstances leading to the prescription of dewormer for your infant. I suggest that you take her to a different pediatrician. I don't think the first doctor is doing an adequate job.

Is diarrhea the only thing that is going on or does she have other symptoms too? If that's the only issue then it's possible that she could be dehydrated or something like that so you may want to consider giving her something to help replace electrolytes. In either case it may be a good idea to see another pediatrician like hoseclamps has suggested. Keep us posted.

If your little girl has worms, it takes a long time for them to be removed from her system. She must have gotten them from eatin animal feces or something else like that - because as you are aware, if it's there baby's will put it in their mouth. What did she eat to get worms - do you know?

My son - who is seen by one of the best pediatricians ever - had severe diareha when he was little. It lasted 2 weeks!!!!!!! And she told me to give him milk!! o.O At fitst I was like "What the heck?" but it worked!!! i don't know what it is about it that worked, but it stopped it in 2 days!!

Keep her electrolytes up, with pediasure or gatorade etc. Keep her fluid intake up, try dried blueberries - they are EXCELLENT for dealing with diareha and give fiber for the poo to grab onto. You can find dried blueberries, in your local supermarket - they REALLY work honest!

Also give her yogurt with pro biotics in it. This will counter attack the bad bacteria that is making her sick.

Her loosing weight is the water in the diareha, just watch for darkened eyes, her eyes become deeper, and lethargy. IF that happens, you take her right away to either the hospital or the doctors. That means that she is TOTALLY dehydrated, give her frozen lolipops, ANYTHING with liquid, Jello, Water, clear soup etc. Keep her totally filled with water, and if she feels like eating, you can give her AllBran bisquits, they are the best for fiber, this will help the water to be soaked up. Keep me informed OK? Just watch for the above symptoms. It will be OK!!!!! We ALL go through this with our kids. Good luck hon, and give her an extra hug!!!
