I had a total hysterectomy 2 years ago and have recently found on out cat scans and MRI's (when looking for a kidney stone) that I have an ovarian cyst forming on my left side. I found out from my op report that when removing my left ovary, they had to do a dissection. Could there be part of the ovary left which is infact forming a cyst each month? I have told my daughter for 2 years now that I have phantom pain on my left side. I have been on hormone pills, but have recently gone off so that they can test my hormone levels in 2 weeks with out them. I have not experienced any hot flashes what so ever. I am also wondering if the doctor could be at fault for not letting me know there is a part of the ovary there.
