Lettica, 2 years? Have you had any ops? Did this stem from a bad uti? Mine did and its 5 months and symptoms are still there. I have to keep drinking water otherwise My wee is like acid although not major painful.

I took one woman on heres advice and went to see a Chinese doctor, had some acupuncture and was given herbs and liquid medicine to take 3 times a day. She said she has encountered lots of women with this, and she says; I have a chronic disease, the infection is still there, although western med isnt showing it in tests. She wants to see me twice a week, with balancing my body with acupuncture  detox my body and build my immune system up. She said I have to drink water, wear loose clothes and learn to live with this kind of thing. Who knows I dont think it will go? Its changed my life at the moment, made me depressed and loose confidence and my sex drive is not happening lol.

I also have the coil fitted, its been in for 5 years so I wondering if that needs changing, would that give me the discomfort? Who knows but I think I might look at everything.

My advice, try thrush cream and the pessary.

I am posting a quick one on here again. I suffered from this chronic disease too for 3 yrs, I started with Chinese herbs and acupuncture which made my life manageable but i still had these horrible symptoms called 'Flare ups' twice a month. do you notice that your symptoms get worse around ovulation and around a weekish before your due for your period??? that is because hormones affect this disease....it's called IC (Interstitial Cystitis) you can get a lot more information on a website called the IC-Network.

mine all started when i was given antibiotics for a UTI...when these didn't work i was given more...and more. Do you know what antibiotics do? they don't know where the infection is so they shed the lining of your internal organs, removing the infection with it resulting in killing it. so when i was given dose after dose to try and resolve my symptoms all i was doing was shedding the lining of my bladder...making it worse.

IC have the same symptoms as UTI, it's because the wall of your bladder and urethra are so damaged that it bleeds. guess what else can cause this...STRESS!!! so when you become depressed over the symptoms, the symptoms actually get worse. for me this was an impossible habit to break, how can you not feel depressed when you literally feel like you are busting for the toilet ALL THE TIME.

i am going to put myself on the line here and if you want some answers and haven't found any yet...i have two options that you can try. you can email me on _[removed]_

i have literally researched every single thing on the internet with these symptoms and if after reading the IC-Network you too believe that this is what you have, contact me. there are alternate methods for getting your life back...did i mention i am now almost completely pain free!!!

Chronic UTI's linked to IUD GOOGLE IT, BRINGS UP THIS WEBSITE BUT DIFFERENT FORUM.

Now I read this forum on here, and I had the MARINA COIL fitted years ago, but after reading what others said, I literally took yesterday off and went to several clinics to get my coil taken out.

Yesterday afternoon a nice lady doctor suggested I may have IC, so I have to book another appointment with my urologist to discuss it. But she did take my coil out, actually it hurt like hell. She has sent it off for testing at the lab, after I told her about the E-COLI attaching itself to the coil. Giving women symptoms of uti, soreness!

I have to go back 28th Nov for the results. :)

All I know is I agree with AMY too, thanks for posting Amy, and cheers for your email address, Any help on here or just knowing others out there are going through the same thing is alittle better then feeling like your the only one out there who has it! I have tried to be proactive about self diagnosing myself with this condition as GP's have no clue. Well mine didnt, they said as it didnt show up in tests, well it must be all in your head. Do I trust my GP, NO. I dont.

I love this website its helped me alot and having this forum to keep updating my recovery and reading everyone's posts has helped me through the last few months.

Ok so Im on the 6 month and to be honest I feel like I will never be normal again. But I am trying to be positive that I will be cured.

Ive felt ill for such a while, I am generally looking and feeling unwell, not much energy, no much get up and go. I think the amount of anti-biotics has played a heavy toll on my body! So Ok, Ive taken the coil out, and Im staying warm! Plan to drink plenty of water and take Vit's and some how improve my body immune system.

I went to see a Chinese doctor, had acupuncture  had herbs and medince and within a day, pain got really bad, I was sick, I had head aches, And severe soreness down below, I kept weeing more and it was dark yellow. Bits at a time.  Honestly felt like she made me feel worse, Ive only just started to feel abit better.

Anyway Ill take every person advice and keep researching on. Anything I find out, Ill post on here again.

Sounds daft I must say, try and use the thrush pessery when your feeling sore. Put it in at night. That gave me a break from the soreness.

I also had to go out and buy all new underwear, No sexy stuff but sensible cotton pants, which look like what  a gran would wear. No offence. ANY TIPS ANY STORIES, PLEASE REPLY.

On the IC post, that show also showed a young girl with all the symptoms and they showed the surgery inside the bladder and how the lining sheds blood it looked so painful for the poor girl and they said it was the worst case ever seen but with medication and some physical therapy plus all the usual, water,no sugar,no alcohol, and go for walks, this girl got better. There are good and bad doctors out there and there also are good and bad natural therapists so please be careful and always go to reputable natural therapists and before you take anything research the drug or herb etc fully dont just go buy it and trust itll work To the lady who is peeing dark and in bits with pain that sounds like a infection and plus the herbs possibly could make the urine dark or even bright orange, plus they maybe supress urination others like juniper will promote urination and help with fluid retention. I find that when I have a bad bought of irritation and pain that I get paranoid about everything especially sex and only time it stops is when I am busy, basically no time to sit and think about everything, but I am sure all of you are the same when its time to go the bathroom you wonder, will it hurt, have I drank enough, how long ago did I pee,its so horrible to feel like that then if it is bad painful or after you still feel you need to go the thoughts and fears kick in making it worse. A good few natural easy things I found help are, cammomile tea, water, decaf green tea, cotton underwear washed in sunlight soap and put vinegar in rinse water to remove all soaps. loose pants or skirts no tight jeans or shorts.Juniper mix and lots water to help flush everything. An ancient fix is to boil a handful or green string beans for about 10mins then put the water in a cup and drink it like soup 2 or 3 times a day. Basically it all depends on what is causing the discomfort and keep a diasry and see if symptoms worsen during the period cycle. As for us ladies going into menopause our hormone changes cause this as well.I am starting on menopause free from Fusion today,a natural chinese herbal mix.I mentioned in revious posts I had uterus problems lately non stop bleed and my lining was double size and assume this has been pressing on bladder. So gyno,IBS,and even scar tissue all are factors. All please keep posting and supporting each other.and IS NOT IN OUR HEAD. :)

Very interesting tread...I could say ditto to most of the above posts. I actually didn't get a uti yet (probably going tomorrow) and have treated what "felt" like either a UTI (which I have only had one of in my whole life) or a yeast infection (have had one in my whole life-I am 47) with cranberry, heaps of fluids, grapefruit seed extract (drinking it) and vaginal suppositories of acidophilus/coconut oil.  It started while having intercourse with my husband after I had been gone for 2 weeks, and I had a weird little jab type feeling of pain inside me which was odd. The symptoms did not happen right away, probably a week ish before some itching and burning started. It wasn't horrid at first so I mostly ignored it but drank heaps of water. Now it's a few weeks later, it's been worse and better in between and for a couple days was almost "cured".... I cancelled the UA I was going to have Monday because I felt so much better. Then today after urinating I got a stabbing pain in what I almost wonder if it's actually my urethra and not my bladder?  So....maybe I'll go have the UA tomorrow (though it does not sound at all like that will help me much from what you ladies are saying).....how do they tell if there is something actually wrong with the urethra, because that's what I am wondering....ugh!

Hi everyone. I am a 45 yo menopausal female who has had chronic UTI infections for 20+ years, chronic yeast & bacterial infections for 10+ years. I take diflucan once a week, and have done so for about 5 years. The bacterial infections stopped after I switched my toliet paper to Scott tissue and settled into a monogamous relationship. A few weeks ago I thought I had a UTI and started a course of antibiotics. The pain didn't go away and actually got worse each day. I had all the classic symptoms described my many others in this forum. I ended up in the ER and they explained that I did not have a UTI. They took other cultures, gave me 3 other types of antibiotics and sent me home. The pain persisted and kept getting worse. I went to my GYN and she explained that all other cultures from the ER visit were also negative (yeast, bacteria, STDs, etc.). She scheduled a sonogram - which was completely normal. My next step was to see a Urologist - but I never made that appt. I spent hours and hours doing research online and ran across this forum. Someone had suggested trying a potent Probiotic - to help put the good bacteria back into my body. I was desperate to try anything! I had tried a generic probiotic from Walmart many months before and it seemed to do nothing. After work, I rushed to my local Rite Aid and found the strongest (and most expensive) probiotic I could find - GNC Ultra Probiotic Complex 75. To my amazement, it worked!!! By the next day the pain with urination was nearly gone, within three days I only felt a twinge of pain. Sometimes I still get a twinge now and then, but I am living a normal life - I'm able to drink iced tea and wine, eat fruit, use artificial sweeteners, enjoy sex! I don't have to guzzle tons of water all day (although I do drink 6-8 glasses normally). So far the pain has not returned and I've been trying everything to make it come back! I figured I'd go ALL IN and if the symptoms returned, I could eliminate things to determine the culprit.....PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you haven't tried Probiotics, go get some. The kind or type you get really does matter, so don't rule them out as a fix if you have tried them already. Pay the money for the better stuff. Keep in mind that you may react better to a refrigerated probiotic. I've only been a few weeks of being pain free, but I'm hopeful this is a long term solution. I will post again in a week or two to report back. I sure hope this solution really is this easy for all of us! It saddens me to read what everyone is going through. Hang in there and good luck!!

Ive had my coil taken out and tested  awaiting results, But I still have the problem of my morning wee, after going its uncofortable and still have discomfort in the vagina area as well as the ureatha.

Researching on here and women are saying to try HIPREX 1G TABLETS METHENAMINE HIPPURATE - 60 TABS - HIPREX, Vantage hydrocortisone cream 1% 15g, HealthAid Acidophilus Plus 4 Billion - 60 Vegicaps, £25 quid for all three on amazon so Ill give them ago. Maybe I have IC, I need to get an appointment with my gyno again and ask him for more testing.

SPICY STUFF IS A NO NO, AND LIMITED TEA AND ALCOHOL. IF YOUR GOING TO DRINK, TRY SPIRITS SUCH AS WHISKY AND RUM.

I am also looking at it like a overgrowth of thrush so Im going to try the tablets above, and the perssery tonight. I lso have noticed the last 2 days sorry to sound gross on here ladies. White discharge, thick but it doesnt itch down below nor does it smell. DOES ANYONE HAVE THAT?

Also Im reading about a cut on the ureatha opening. Google that too interesting. quote from another user "OK so I am here to give my story and maybe it could help any of you. I started to get all the symptoms of a UTI. I don't usually get UTI's so i was a bit doubtful about having one, however, I had buring upon urination, pressure in the lower abdomen, all the typical UTI symptoms... and most importantly was the EXTREMELY uncomfotable feeling in my urethra basically at the opening... it wasn't painful but more a mild burning feeling and an intense tingle feeling....very annoying I could never sit still, I couldn't sleep at night IT WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY! So I went to the clinic and had a urine analysis done (AKA peed in a cup) and the results showed that I had a trace of blood in my urine but not a high enough level of white blood cells to be diagnosed with a UTI. Because of my discomfort, the doctor still treated me for a UTI with antibiotics 3 days and said if the feeling never goes away then come back. The feeling didn't stop, so 3 sleepless nights later I went back and fortunately stumbled upon a female doc instead... we did another unrine analysis and again there was a slight trace of blood but no white blood cells. So She asked if she could examin the area and when she fiddled around all of a sudden I screamed in pain! AAHHHAAA she said...I had a fissure (cut) in the opening of my urethra. This little cut caused the blood trace and because it's at the opening it stimulates the bladder and gives that constant need to pee feeling like with a UTI... Then upon some research i found out that many doctors don't think of urethran lessions as a possible cause of UTI type symptoms... but it's actually quite common. So the treatment was not complicated... a hydrocortisone type cream daily and a few weeks to heal....the cream was not for the healing but for the discomfort and it worked. I have NOOOO idea how I cut my urethra... a vaginal cut I could understand but the urethra no idea! I thought I would feel something like that occur... but I guess not. Anyways, maybe bring this up as a possibility to your doc if they seem perplexed... oh an I forgot to mention that I could not see the cut myself... I investigated with a mirror for hours and couldn't see what the doc saw... she's obviously at a different angle LOL."

I can't believe I've found people with a similar issue! I'm 19 and have had 3 UTI's in the past 18 months. Recently, while not nearly as painful as a UTI, I've been experiencing this tenderness after I urinate and it is so uncomfortable. I also feel like I'm going to pee even when I sit there and I can't. Unlike a UTI, however, it doesn't burn when I urinate. It makes everything so uncomfortable :(

I'll try a probiotic and I'll post the results soon…

I am also 19 and have had exactly the same thing for 2 years! It was so bad that I would sit on the toilet for hours crying as there was nothing else. The only thing that seemed to ease pain was having co codomal which completely knocked me out. I then had an operation where they opened the tubes connecting my bladder and said they were inflamed I now don't get it so bad. But still occasionally get it. I don't know what to do Im in desperate need of a cure! I also work in retail so am on my feet for hours and that seems to aggravate it more and also whenkit gets cold. Someone please help!

D-Mannose is great for chronic uti issue and specifically for e choli bacteria in the urine....the d mannose actually binds with the e choli bacteria and then it leaves the body in the urine. Now THAT'S actually something helpful :)

Hi everyone!  I wanted to share this with all of the women going through this.  I have recently had the same experience wioth pain in the abdomen, pain in my lower back on the left side but the pain would come and go so it through me off and I thought I was just having back pain until I felt a pain that felt like I had kidney stone again.  I finally went to Planned Parenthood and told her my symptoms and they did a uti test which was positive for a uti.  I received antibiotics (Nitrofurantin Capsules 500mg) which cleared it up but I was still having the symptoms of a full bladder and needing to go to the bathroom so I went back a weeks later to get checked internally since I couldn't get checked the first time due to my period being on.  Well positive results once internally checked showed I had bacteria vaginosis which is more bacterial growth than normal.  It can be your ph balance off, too much caffeine but it is not sexually transmitted.  It can come from a new sex partner or if you have multiple.  I got more antibiotics and the first pill I took made me feel better.  So, go get checked internally.
