Can anyone also please tell me why on earth I only get cystitis when on holiday or away from home for a prolonged period? My doctor says it is a common complaint of women but no explanation. By the way, it is NOT caused by sex as our sex life (my husband and I) is no different when on holiday.

Hello, I have been having this problem for nearly 3 months. I had a new sexual partner, and few days later started having burning sensations in urethra area, painful full bladder, getting worse at night. It doesn't hurt to pee, but full bladder gets very very uncomfortable and burning. Also it does hurt to sit. My partner had no symptoms and always tested negative for STDs. Went to GYN, tested negative on STDs and negative on UTIs. It showed some bacteria, so had several different antibiotic treatments which helped for about a week, even though the symptoms didn't go completely away, and about a week later getting worse again. I feel embarrassed to go to my GYN for the fifth time. Not sure what to do next, thinking to go to a general Practitioner or to Urologist, because most of the symptoms I have are in the urethra. What tests should I request? Did anyone finally found the answers? Any advice? Thank you in advance.
Hiprex

Thank you for the info. I ll ask my GYN about Hiprex. I do drink plenty of water everyday. Any alternatives to cranberry? I am allergic to it.

I read that cranberry was not the truth and the light for kidney/bladder infections. I have had many visits with urologist and am considering a connection to low thyroid, low immune system. Still researching and will post what I find..
I also know from a cousin that family genetics, on my Dad's side that kidney/bladder has been problematic
