I have dealt with this problem for a few months now since my hysterectomy. I really think it has everything to do with that because prior to the hysterectomy i was fine in that department but now im not. The next thing for me is mri or ct scan to see whats happening. Keep looking for answers so your quality of life is what it should be. Good luck

hi i am 22 years old and i also have that kind of sharp pain which start at my lower abdomen at the leftside after few minutes it radiates in my rectum area.. the pain for me is not bearable that i took analgesics. When i was 16 and 20 y/o old i experienced menstruation which lasted for almost 5 weeks.. i had a ultrasound when i was 20 and the doctor said i got a lump . She asked me to take a contraceptive pills and when i had my menstruation again,, a big lump came out.. so i concluded that it maybe the one the  doctor saw during the ultrasound. After that my  menstruation cycle becomes regular. After a year i experienced that lower left abdominal pain that radiates to the rectum... Does anyone had this kind of experience?

before i read this i thought i was the only one having this same issue, it has happened to me thrice now, the first time i contacted my DOC and she said she feels its ovulation that caused it, since i was relieved by morning i didnt deem it necessary to go to the hospital for further check ups, and then months after it happened again and this time around she felt it was gas and gave me some medications to relieve the pain. then it happened again, and this time i was very sure it was gas, because i have been having bloating stomach due to taking clomid and she told me i should not hold gas in at all, i should try and gas as much as possible, and the last time it happened, i called her again she told me its gas, when i was later relieved i passed so much amount of gas, and i felt more relieved even though i wasnt able to do that when the pain started because trying to gas was very painful. My doc God bless her soul i call her anytime of the night or day.

Could be diverticulosis turning into diverticulitis (inflammation).  For me it feels like period cramps.  You should see a Dr. for antibiotics.

Female, 48 years of age and I'm having lower adominal & rectal pain. I went to the doctor and was told I had hemmorroids and was prescribed some suppositories yet that made the matters 5 times worse. I also had a colonoscopy roughly 6 years ago and they found nothing. The doctor said she would monitor what was going on yet today I'm in a great deal of pain (6) where's it hard to even sit. If I use my ad muscles to pull up the pain is severe. It feels like my insides are about to come out. There's also a shooting pain that goes up the left side of my stomach stopping just below the ribcage. I'm tired of all the doctor visits yet I would like to know what the heck is wrong with me.

Ruptured ovarian cyst cause severe pain in the lower abdomen and around tha anus. You feel like you need to have a bowel movement for relief, yet when you release the bowel pain worsens. Fluid from a rupture cyst also causes pain.  Best to get an ultrasound immediately following start of pain since they can measure size of cyst amd see thefluid to confirm that this is an issue.

Please all read this. I am 30 year old male. For about 3 years I had a rectal pain, kind of an aching pain that was sore to touch. It got progressively worse. I would try to escape the pain by sleeping. Tried changing my diet. Had multiple rectal exams. Nobody could diagnose me. Eventually I started trying supplements, vitamins, enzymes, thinking it may be digestion related. I began taking HCl betaine acid, 1 pill per day with a meal. After about a month, the pain was GONE. After two months, I stopped taking it and the pain STAYED GONE. it's now been 1 year and I rarely take it. Literally this was a miracle for me as it was ruining my life. I am now pain free. I hope this becomes better understood and my story helps you too!!!

I too have had a hysterectomy and every since my problems are the same as yours. Maybe it has something to do with the surgery and where our intestines were placed. When you find anything out please reply. Thank you :)
