I had the same thing, I visited the doctor, the pain was due to stress. It went away the very next day after I relaxed. I hope this helps.

Can you tell me if you found out what was causing the pain in the temple area? Thank you.

Thank you everyone that posted something. I have been suffering from migraines for years now and have had sinus problems my whole life. I have temple pain on my left side. My temple is so sensitive if I press on it I start to feel a migraine coming on. I just recently found a good neuro doctor and am getting a brain MRI in a couple days. I have just recently noticed my jaw being really tight in the morning when I wake up. These posts helped me to not worry as much about my MRI results and I'm hoping I've found a solution to my years of pain.

i have been suffering with pain/tenderness in and around both temples since mid last year. I have discovered that my mobile phone and wireless devices are trigerring this problem.. I have removed them all from my home and no longer keep my mobile on - its in flight mode constantly. I feel so much better - doctors seem to be amazed and say they can't explain it!

I think most of us have migraines as a common factor. I just started 2 days ago with the left temple bruise like pain and will find out in 2 days when I have my physical. I also use a mouth guard and it prevents clenching as I had it made to put the stress on my front teeth as I still cracked teeth having a guard that was normal. I dont think I have TMJ but do worry about the temporal arterial issue. I have cervical stenosis and get terrible neck spasms at times and worry so much about someday having a stroke.
I think an MRI is a good idea if you can get your doctors to give you one. I had one in 08 and its amazing that people with migraines show actual damage on the brain. Any form of head pain should require one as it could show early signs of a tumor or aneurism.
