That sounds like it may be herpes...most ppl think it's only on the genitals, but bcuz the virus is actually stored in the lower spinal fluid, it can outbreak at the bottom of the tailbone/top of buttcrack...when it shows up there it's usually a cluster of raised painful bumps. I hope that's not what it is, but if it is, it's not the end of the world. Go get a test

You have an infected/ingrown follicle at the tailbone. Go to your doctor immediately to resolve it, or else you will have to get it surgically drained if it gets big enough. I'm an RN, and I've had to pack these wounds after they have been surgically drained from being neglected. It's not your fault for getting it...they are fairly common, but it's your fault if you don't seek treatment and it becomes worse.

It most likely is a Pionital cyst. Get a diagnosis from your doctor. They perscribe antibiotics to reduce and prevent abscess and pain medications. Warm salt water baths help ease the discomfort. A doughnut shaped pillow eases pain when sitting. . Some get very problematic and require surgical removal.

i have faced similar problem.i was told that medical term for this problem is "pilonoidal abcess".the lump was due to the infection caused due to infection of hairs in that area. And i had this issue every once in 2 years.Everytime when i was visiting the doctor ,they will take the puss off(which was horrible) and put bandage.but it kept appearing, creating physical and mental problems and goes off.Atlast i consulted an ayurvedic doctor(in India). He was so good.there is a treatment called "Kshara Sutra Therapy" for pilonoidal abcess. The treatment was so effective that i almost forgot about the problem i had.

How to you make it so the pain isn't there no more? I tried to pop it but even touching it makes me want to cry. It's almost been a week since I have this & to tell you the truth it hurts A LOT!!! Usually I hide things like this but when my mom saw me struggling with walking or even standing up she knew what was wrong. So how do you make it to not hurt as much when you're standing or even going to the bathroom? & how do you know when you really popped it because I'm trying my best to pop it but it's hurting & it's making me cry because of the pain!!!!

I went to the dermatologists because I have 2, one on the right and one a little lower on the left of my butt crack. He said they were anal vents and there was nothing he could do, I told him about how much pain I was in and he said it will stop in a day or2. They seem to come and go about every 3 to 4 months and they will drain and stop hurting but it takes like 4 to 5 days and I can't hardly do anything during that time. What doctor should I go see

I am 15 years old and i have a similar problem. It started as I got up from lying on my bed late at night. It felt like a bruised tailbone but as the days went on, the pain got worse and worse. It's been about a week and I have a huge lump on the very top of my butt crack, which is solid, red and tender. To sit down, lay down on my back and during times when the pain is excruciating, when I walk is painful. I take pain relief 3 times a day until I can book an appointment at the doctors. The only thing is, I've never been through a operation and I haven't had to experience anything painful for medical reasons. All I want to know is how painful is it to have the lump drained, do they numb the area the lump is and how long does the pain last?
