I've seen other topics similar to this, but I wanted to get some advice specific to me. A few weeks ago I developed a yeast infection. At first, I thought it was just like any other. A little discharge, some itching-- I figured it would go away like the others I've gotten.
However, this time it's been completely awful. The itching was much worse and I've gotten small little splits in the skin around my vagina and right above my clitoris. The outer labia has also been very itchy and sore, with little flakes (I think from dried discharge) that reveal red sore spots. It almost looks like a diaper rash sometimes. I've put neosporin on the outer labia (nowhere near the vagina itself) to help heal the sores, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.
The itching and pain lessened a great deal when I wore a tampon the other day (I had been spotting and didn't want to worry about bleeding on my dress), so I think there must be a connection between the discharge and my irritated skin.
I would really rather not use any vagisil or monistat-- I was hoping to use a more natural remedy. Does anyone have any suggestions?
