I am 26 and I have had interstitial cystitis for 10 years. Though the part about feeling as though the vagina is going to 'fall out' isn't a symptom of interstitial cystitis, aka IC, the pressure is. But along with the pressure you can sometimes have intense burning in your bladder region at any time or in your urethra when you urinate. Not all women have the the burning, but I think most have the pressure.
With that said, I think having one problem leads to others. Because of the intense pain in my abdomen from IC I think my muscles have become affected and I may now have a prolapsed vagina. This hasn't been proven, as I haven't gone to the doctor yet, but the symptoms that some of you are describing seem to match what I am going through. I've always had pressure from the IC but recently I have been having the painful twinges or flashes in my vagina/cervix. Feels like a 'falling out' sensation. I also feel pressure in my bowels. I feel like I need to have a bowel movement or pass gas but it doesn't happen. When I try to push it makes it worse. Eating less seems to help as it makes it literally less full inside. I hate feeling this way. I can't wear a belt or tight pants. It makes me feel bloated and not good about myself.
I have been having other pain in my upper abdomen that I do not think is related so my doctor decided to do a ct scan of my whole abdomen, just to check everything out at once. Do any of you know if a ct scan would show: ovarian cancer, endometriosis, prolapsed uterus, prolapsed bowel, prolapsed bladder, scar tissue, etc??? I don't know if it is worth it to be exposed to so much radiation if a ct scan wont even show these things.
Thanks! If any of you have figured out what was wrong please post back and let us all know! I'll do the same.
The hard thing is, I think so many things have the same symptoms.

I went for an US and pathology tests - I am unfortunately deff Not pregnant. I also have Graves disease - It's an autoimmune disease which causes the thyroid to hyperfuntion. Apparently my pains & spasms are all muscular and it's because I have too much thyroxine in my body. My pathology also showed extremely high levels of estrogen in my body - to which my doctor replied " Oh it means your very fertile" Currently seeing a naturopath/Homeopath who claims this is the complete opposite. My advise get your bloods done and any scans you deem nessesary and take them to a homeopath.

Sounds like pelvic floor dysfunction. Mine was related to a hip injury due to a car accident. I had surgery to fix a labral tear in the hip socket, and an ilio-psoas release(thigh muscle was so inflamed that a piece of muscle had to be cut out to release the pressure/swelling).
All my symptoms went away until I tripped and came down hard on the same leg three weeks ago. The pain and horrible pelvic pressure are back. It hurts just to sit, feels like my insides are going to fall out and feels like I have to constantly pee. My abdominal area is hard as a rock from the pressure and sticks out like I'm pregnant!
I'm convinced it has to do with my hip again. I think I tore my hip flexor muscle. Pelvic floor physical therapy might help some of you. Yes...it's exactly what it sounds like...physical therapy in "that area".

Now in the last couple years, I've been having the same symptoms, only I have no equipment. So they think it may be scar tissue, and even something that may be attached to what ever I left down there. Oh, and I also had them check for a UTI and it wasn't one.
tired of hurting and begging for answers.

Just curious did you have any kind of ablation done? Im stitting here in the exact same pains agai this month, enough to make you scream and cry. I had the Novasure procedure done last year and after that it's been nothing but total hell for me. Please og get checked out, this sounds to me like something on with your uterus more than a UTI.
