I had a very similar problem very recently like just a few weeks ago. I had unprotected sex and a little less than a month later I started getting a burning sensation when I urinated and a little bit of a white/cloudly discharge in the mornings. I was also experiencing some tenderness and soreness around the testicles after sex or masturbation. Well all the symptoms started getting a little worse and started freaking me out.
I pretty much was convinced I had either Chlamydia or Gonorrhea. I went to a clinic to get tested for STD's. Week later, results came back negative. This was even worse! I was at that point freaking out more, because now I thought it could be anything, possibly something much worse than an STD. Well I went to my doctor, and he diagnosed after STD came back negative that I had an infection. It's called NGU. It's a bacterial infection. As far as I know, you can get it pretty easily from unprotected sex, but I would imagine that since it's a bacterial infection it is possible to get it other ways.
It's actually disturbingly common. After doing some research I realized how common this is. It produces the same symptoms as Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, but the troubling part is that woman a lot of times don't get symptoms, or they confuse it with something else. So it goes untreated for a while. Lots of people have this! I think more people have to get educated on it. I think it should be taught about in sex-ed courses and etc. I am 26 and I was very ignorant on it. I didn't even know that existed. If not treated it can be lead to more dangerous things, especially in women.
In any case it is out there. Make sure you see a good doctor. It can be easily missed because doctors focus in on the STD's. It's very easily treatable, doctor prescribed antibiotics for about a week takes care of it. But honestly it's rather gross and not worth the trouble or worries of having an STD. Just use a condom.

I had most of the same problems listed in this blog. Turns out, Herpes. Negative STD results are from bacterial tests...Have them do a herpes antibody test and see if that's the cause of your symptoms. Unfortunately, it was the cause of mine

I have the burning in the tip of my penis/urethra after urination. I have had it once in a while as far back as I can remember. It only happens occasionally, and it definitely happened more often when I drank alcohol or acidic soft drinks.
But I was wondering, all you guys that have this same complaint: are you circumcised? I'm not circumcised, and I've only ever heard people complain of this problem that were also uncircumcised. Many different problems can be causing this at different times. If you are not circumcised, remember that the head of your penis is more sensitive to touch and pain than that of a circumcised penis. Sometimes the problem can be from not keeping clean; the foreskin must be pulled back and cleaned up under every day. Sometimes the problem can come from dietary habits, such as caffeine, alcohol, spicy foods, acidic foods, etc. If you just can't give up some of these things, then drink LOTS of water when you consume the problem foods/beverages. Drink milk with spicy foods. These things can make your urine more acidic, and even a slight elevation in urine acidity can be excruciating to a guy with an uncircumcised penis. I am not sure about those who are circumcised; I would imagine if you are circumcised and have this problem, then you are probably taking the urine acidity to an even higher extreme.
When I get the burning feeling, I IMMEDIATELY clean my penis thoroughly, and then drink a few glasses of water, and I go and sit on the toilet and pee a few times (and number two almost always coincides with this burning) until the water comes through, which will lower the acidity slightly and wash out the acidic conditions that were present that caused the irritation. The Neosporin idea is not a bad one, though I would not put neosporin inside the urethra for a few reasons; one, the tip of the neosporin tube can cut and irritate that extremely sensitive skin; and two, bacteria reside on and in the penis even when there is no infection, so these bacteria can get on the tip of the neosporin tube and cause you to just keep putting it back into your penis when you use it again. And cleaning the tip may not necessarily kill all the bacteria. I would simply apply the Neosporin with clean, dry hands, AFTER thoroughly washing the penis.
I would be interested in knowing how many of you guys who are having this problem are uncircumcised. If most of you are uncut, then this could be the problem, the pattern...

Running some cold water over your penis from the faucet can help, not only by cleaning it, but the coldness will numb it slightly. If you can't stoop down low enough to get your penis under the bathtub's running water, then pour a glass of ice water and submerge your penis for a while. Repeat after the water gets warm. Running water is better though because it will help it get cleaner and less acidic, and it will flush away whatever it is irritating your penis.

This is a very unfortunate problem, and it's terrible that doctors just don't have an answer for the ones without STD's and such. I am one of those who has not received a solution to the problem. It really sucks, but at least it comes and goes and doesn't stay forever, constantly. Try the cold water thing though, seriously. It helps. My prayers are with all of you who suffer from the insatiable pain.

Just to get it out of the way: i have never had sex; therefore it cannot be an STD.
I have this problem every once in a while. It's usually a pain that lasts for ten to fifteen minutes, but it always goes away. It's also always in the morning after breakfast.
The burning is excrutiatingly painful, and it is also annoying. Could anyone please tell me why this happens?

what you are having is totally normal. The first time i felt it was when i was 4 or 5. After peeing the tip of my penis started to hurt and burn. And some people are right it comes on and off. The reason why i am here commenting this thing is because i was experiencing the same thing but then i got rid of it. I am goin to tell u a way to get rid of it. the solution is you have to piss some more because there is more piss and you have to let it out. what i do is i take soap and rub it all over the palm of my hands and then i rub the tip of my penis on it which stimulates it to get the rest of it out. TRUST ME IT REALLY WORKS.

I have had this come and go in the past few years. I tested negative for STDs and I think it really does have to do with the fact I have been drinking a lot more coffee as of recent. The PH and acidity comment makes sense. I'm going to "flush" my body this week with a lot of bran and water and lay off the coffee and see if it helps.

Guys, I have had theses symptoms as well. I went to numerous doctors. Eventually I was diagnosed with Prostitis and Epididimitis. (Spelling not sure) The Dr told me that the prostate creates a type of fluid that fights infection and that fluid is present all the way to the tip inside. This fluid protects and fights bacteria from the environment, sweat, women's secretions, etc. Kind of like your mouth and nose have mucus or saliva. Well, you have to take lots of antibiotics for a long time to be rid of it. Take ALL the antibiotics until he says to stop. You might also want to switch condoms. The late kind would sometimes irritate and burn the tip. Just my two cents hope it helps!
