It’s been nearly 6 years since I cut my wrist with a still saw, was going good with movement, sensation wasn’t the best but can live with that, but lately I feel like my fingers are getting worse, like it’s tightening up and getting painful the pick things up? I’m thinking it’s scar tissue affecting the nerve ? Anyone else had this? And as anyone had scar tissue removed before? Cheers in advance

Just over a week ago I had a freak accident, I was asleep upstairs and two people were breaking into my house through a patio door. I came downstairs, freaked out and somehow managed to go through the glass. I cut my wrist and leg quite badly. I had surgery on my wrist to repair median nerve and tendon to my middle finger the were both completely severed. I am down about it reading that sensation will never be the same. Worried I won’t be able to use my dominant hand like before.
At the moment I’m in quite a lot of pain with electric shocks, pins and needles firing in my palm and fingers

I want to say that i never severed my median nerve. They removed the scar tissue/adhesion on 3/2/2018. Surgeon said i had scar tissue pressing on the median nerve due to the tendon repair graft on my right thumb. So he removed the scar tissue and re exised my transverse carpal ligament. To take pressure off my median nerve. He said my median nerve was still intact. Its been 2 weeks since my surgery and i still get carpal tunnel symptoms at night and middle finger is still numb. Is this normal? What's the recovery time?

Hiya mate, sounds very similar to mine, a sheet of steel went threw my wrist I 100% severd the medium nerve and also 3 tendons, it’s about 24cm to the top of my finger from the wound, I have 0 sensation or feeling in my index and middle finger and also a numb thumb, it’s been 3 months for me, how’s yours coming on?

its been 10 months since i severed my median nerve & 5 tendons in my left hand. still numb. still feel pain. sometimes stiff, sometimes locks up. at night it is especially bothersome. i try to excersize fingers & hand as much as possible i fear the feeling & muscle wont come back. i have an appointment in 3months to check up i am not confident in my doctors they are very nonchalant about it. they suggest i get another surgery if i still have no feeling in 3months. its discouraging but maybe im just having a bad night.

I am suffering from the EXACT same thing. Any updates? I’m only 8 months into recovery and it’s been a terribly uncomfortable healing process

After a fig bite to my forearm 3weeks ago. I cannot do a thumbs up or lift my index finger. I am not in pain any more and have difficulty picking up a coin, but I can do it. I can hold a pen to write and make a fist. Basically I cannot lift them, but I can bend them. I have feeling, no numbness, no tingling. However the surgeon want to do surgery ASAP...should I get a 2nd opinion?

I had you can say the same injury as you but with a TV . I was going to dispose of the TV as I lifted it up to throw into the truck my right hand went through it . I have a cut down to the bone on my hand side an inch below my wrist than upwards right into the middle of my arm I had several damage of torn tissues tendons nerves arteries ligaments you name it . That was 4 yrs ago and I was still feeling burning sensations only my thumb has all movements the rest I can only move up and down painfully .When I bump my side of the hand against something I feel literally an electric shock . Any way about 6 weeks ago they did surgery again to maybe getting me better . Up to now at least the electric shock sensation has gone but the rest I still feel them . Was told it will take months even years to know what went well . Well just hoping for the best once you damage something you will never get the same as before . Lucky for me I am a pensioner now nothing to worry about . I wish all the best who has some sort of injury to get well soon
