Sorry about your injury! Hope you are doing better by now. Last week I severed my median nerve and three tendons ( thick glass on top of table broke under my right hand and jabbed my wrist). I had surgery and it was painful but nothing like the pain you described. I think maybe yours was not put back together properly to say the least! I also read nodules can form on nerves that didn't get put back together and that they are extremely painful...good luck
Would love to know how you are doing now.. i had basically the exact same thing happen to me but i only severed 75% of the nerve and still have feeling in my thumb.. its been just over a month and movement is coming back but still no feeling.. if somehow you see this feel free to email me

I had surgery and recovery was horrible, i couldnt move my hand or feel touch or anything.
After nearly a year i can now nearly get my hand into a full fist and i can move my wrost but i still feel numbness i havent experienced any pain for the last 6 months but yesterday my arm and hand have started to ache and is really sore again, does anyone know why this might be happening after 11 months ?
Sky kid, Severed my median nerve left wrist Nov 2014. Had surgery one week after. I was 47 when it happened...Did extensive PT after and I have about 80% movement back. As far as nerve recovery...it's been tough. Thumb and pointer finger are the worst...Velcro feels like sand paper, tips of thumb pointer and middle have no sensation as far as touch...grabbing paper, small things etc...I need to focus. I feel like there was a lot of atrophy due to the 8 weeks my hand was in a cast. Almost 3 years later...I know as I get older it's going to suck:( It feels cold all the time. I wrap heat pads around it when it really bothers me and even purchased a tens machine to try and stimulate the nerves. Any feeling...pain,tingling etc...is welcome as that typically means the nerve us trying to regenerate. It's very frustrating, as mine was a freak accident. I have a stress ball, get massages on neck and arm, armpit etc....bicep tricep...if you get massages have them massage those areas good! Did a lot of ultrasound on scar...can barely see my scar at all, but when I tap it or massage it...it still zings up to my fingers. All good. Not sure of your age, but the younger you are the better chances of nerve regeneration. Working out for me is sometimes hard as you can't depend on the "grip" of that hand. My suggestions is work with whatever weights you can. Not sure I helped, but stay positive, and whatever feels good on it, use it (per my PT). Heat/cold, etc... good luck!
I severed twelve tendons and damaged the nerves for equal measure one month ago. I was wondering in terms of driving, how long it took others who had had similar injuries to be able to drive again.
Thanks
