I need some advice on my persistent rash on knees, forearms and it started even affecting my scalp and I have noticed that my hair is missing on the affected rash scalp area. Whole this is driving me crazy especially this persistent itching rash on my knees for which I started avoiding wearing jeans –it is so itchy I can hardly control myself of scratching it with nails and when I do that some ugly scar is left behind. Please someone help, for it is been almost 4 months now I am dealing with this persistent rash on my knees that tends to spread even further. What could this be?

To me it looks like you are dealing with skin inflammation known as lichen planus and I am afraid there is not much you can do to make it disappear except maybe applying some creams to reduce itchiness and burning sensations and since it looks like you have severe form of this skin inflammation you might even get some corticosteroids prescribed. Anyway this persistent rash you have on your knees and forearms usually takes up to 6 or even 12 months to vanish so you better go visit some derm to diagnose your condition and usually it is done by taking some small tissue sample therefore biopsy needs to be done to establish weather this is about lichen planus or not.
