Eating scabs may not be socially acceptable, but it is an evolutionary trait, and serves a purpose in regards to preparing the bodys immune system for a particular bacteria. Masturbation is quite normal, but you dont see people walking around in public doing that.

Totally agree! My partner eats her pimple puss and boogers. I have an immune disease. Not only is it a turn off but to me it can be too dangerous.

Yes, my shrink... actually three of them say it's a form of punishment on yourself due to mistreatment as a child where you feel responsible. After considering that theory carefully, I DO AGREE with him. However, I am soooo happy that I found this page because I now know that I'm not the only person who has this "problem". It gives me some weird release seeing the blood flowing from wherever the scab is as I'm screaming in pain. Lol! My mother started beating me when I was about 3 years old with a belt and other things for no other reason than me being me. A happy, ALWAYS smiling, loving little girl. My shrink said that because she would tell me that I.was a bad girl, I still feel the need to punish myself. I hope this helps. God bless to everyone and good luck.
