My wife eats them ALL THE TIME but only recently has she got the bitter taste 3 times. I eat few and far between but chowed big time on lamb w/pine nuts and now YUCK-YUCK, can't even enjoy a cigarette. Very interesting epidemiology here RE: PINE NUTS. Perhaps Globalism and Free trade has allowed contaminated PINE NUTS into our food supply. We have seen major increases in food borne pathogens with food like spinach, tomatoes, etc brought in from other countries at the expense of our own productivity. Not to mentioned poisioned toys and pharmecheuticals from China. Pine Nuts are just one symptom, the cancer is the sessation of our own food production and safety to placate foreign growers. So what if we get sick, BigPharma's got the cure.
