You could say I am in a bit of a pickle at the moment. It will just take a moment to explain, but i feel like I should, so that the ones who do take the time to respond (thank you in advance) do get the gist of it.
When I was first prescribed Birth control my M.D. basically shrugged it off when asking him if it was necessary to take the pill at the same exact time every day. So for the first week, I took it when I remembered to take it, or when I just thought about it. Then on about the 8th day into my cycle, (starting the day of my period) we had intercourse and the condom broke, and I had only been on the pill for 7 days (including that day even though it was about 5 a.m.).
Now, for about 2 weeks now, i am experiencing bleeding, ranging from spotting, to about light-moderate. And I am not supposed to be getting my period for another 2 days.
I have just started taking B.C. for about 3 weeks now, so I was hoping that would play into the irregular bleeding. But I can't help but wonder..bleeding..spotting...pregnant? My dr. said that Plan B was not necessary considering that birth control was no different. But I just don't understand this reasoning when B.C. is such a low dose in comparison to plan B.
And is taking the pill at the same time every day really that vital?
Please, any response would be GREATLY appreciated.

Okay..I am surprised the DOC did not tell you this, but it sounds like he was not very helpful..
THE FIRST 2-3 months on birth control WILL be spotty, maybe even some irregular bleeding. It will stop, it just takes time.
You do need to take the pill around the same time every day! Hopefully within 3 hours, because that way you cannot forget =)
it is highly doubtful you are pregnant, you are justhaving the normal side effects.
