I have been searching on the internet for this subject and was unable to find it till now. I had a tummy tuck 2 years and ago and now am thinking I want a 4th child. I was scared as you guys about the ripping and stretching of the muscles. I guess it all depends on where you carry the baby.
I am still trying to talk my future husband into getting pregnant again but I dont think he is gonna go for it as he is 50 years old. Thanks for bringing the topic up. I thought I was the only one who would consider a pregnancy after having one.

I am a 32 year old mother of 3 girls and I absolutely did not want anymore kids. After my 3rd daughter I was left with severe diastasis recti and a hernia. I had stretch marks up the gazoo and hated to look at myself. I have always been an athletic person with muscular arms, shoulders, and legs. I could not believe that my stomach muscles would turn out the way they did. In November 2007 I underwent a full tummy tuck with a hernia repair. I loved the results, although I probably could have used a little lipo around the waist area. The only thing I hated about my surgery and my husband constantly reminds me of is the fact that my surgeon positioned my navel very crooked. I am African American and every little scratch or cut on my skin keloids so my navel did the same and it's not too pretty. Anyway, in June 2008 I missed my period and became frantic. I took 2 pregnancy tests (from the same box) and they both came out negative. So I thought I was in the clear. I also missed my period in July 2008 and prayed that I was stressed. In the beginning of August 2008 I decided to purchase a digital pregnancy and sure enough I was pregnant. My husband (who had agreed to have a vasecetomy, was estatic but I was devastated and scared out of my mind about the complications. So far, I am 24 weeks, finally pregnant with a boy, and I am not having any problems, that I can tell. I do suffer from shortness of breath (especially during the many Braxton Hicks contractions I have), and some weird pulling of the muscles when I move certain ways. My belly does not seem tight at all but the top muscles are pushed upwards. I am a lot smaller than my last pregnancy and I don't have any new stretch marks to date. I am just worried that my muscles will separate and I won't be able to have a revision.
This has been really helpful.

I am considering having another child almost 3 yrs. after my tummy tuck. I have a small frame and I'm so very afraid of what it will do to the appearance of my tummy. Has anyone had their baby that was in a similar circumstance. What was the outcome, i.e. additional stretch marks? Were they worse than the first time?

I had a tt about 7 years ago and am now 22 weeks pregnant with twins. My Dr said there shouldn't be any extra complications because of the tt and other than some mild pain in my sides after I eat, everything is going normally. the girls have plenty of room and are both completely stretched out. My Dr said that barring any problems that they will let me carry to 37 weeks. I still have no stretch marks, but never got any with my first child (he's 10 now). I would worry a little if your surgery was really recent but I would say for those like me that if you are pretty well healed you should carry like normal.

This site has been really helpful to me. I got a little scared when I read how premature delivery could happen after TT, but I am not going to freak out. My main reason for coming to this site was the fact that I am 10 weeks pregnant with twins and everyone is saying I should be showing a little bit. So I started thinking maybe I lost the babies and they just haven't aborted out yet. After reading about how people don't look so big after TT, I feel much better. I also felt movement at 9 weeks. I guess it is because everything is tighter inside. I also have shortness of breath after walking up the stairs and sometimes even when I get up from a chair.
If anyone wants more information about what is happening with me (I did have a TT two and a half years ago) feel free to email me at _[removed]_

Hi I was thinking of getting pregnate again and i have had a tummy tuck. I know you said your preg. was fine, thats great to hear. I went to the doctor and she said mine would be fine too. My question to you is did the tummy tuck cause you to have really bad marks? was your belly like hanging all loose. That's what i heard and that scares the c**p out of me. And last Q. I plan on having another tuck after this preg. did this help get you back to the way you were on your first tummy tuck or not.
Sorry to ask so much. :$ email me if you could at _[removed]_

I had a TT in June of this year, I am now 14 weeks and I am having lots of pain in my lower stomach feels like real bad cramps. This is my 3rd child. My tummy is tight and hard. my OB/GYN says that all should go well with the pregnancy. It should be no reason for concern for me to continue to eat healthy and watch over eating, but what has concerned me is that I gained 7 lbs so far, but he says that is fine and it will not be hard for me to loose the weight after the birth if I continue with a healthy diet.
Is anyone having pain in the lower stomach?? Or any where?

I had a tummy tuck in April of 2005 and I believe that I am pregnant. I had a tummy tuck because of my first pregnancy left with a lot of excessive skin. My son is 26 years old and I am 44 and didn't want another child. My current husband of 2 years doesn't have any kids, and would be ecstatic as will his mom as he is the only child. I just wanted to know how everyone felt when their stomach started to stretch. I know I still feel tightness around the abdomen if I have too much to eat which is definitely uncomfortable, and I don't know if I'll be able to deal with this for 9 months. I appreciate all of the postings thus far.
Also, I paid a total of $7,500, (I think, it's been a while) which didn't include anesthesia, but I also had lipo done on my inner and outer thighs at the same time.

I'm 38 weeks and had a tummy tuck 1 1/2 yrs ago. so i have carried full term, i only gained 12 pounds, no new stretch marks. the baby is fully developed. i will try to remember to post after i have her because i really wish this site had some post from ppl post-baby so we could find out what their tummys are like now.
the only thing different about pregnant after a tummy tuck is the baby sits higher, right up under ribs so i had shortness of breath for many months now and more stretching pains in my lower abs. i really hope i look ok afterwards... i'm worried! if anyone wants to chat more about this with me _[removed]_ is my email.

I am almost done with my pregnancy and I couldn't be more happy. I have developed new horizontal stretch marks on my belly (I didn't even know you could get horizontal ones). That upsets me! I am also suffering from severe fatigue and shortness of breath. I lose count of the number of Braxton-Hicks contractions I have a day. My body totally feels wiped out and I began to hyper-ventilate. I can't even begin to describe my back pain. I sometimes have to crawl or have my husband lift and carry me where I need to go. Once I'm in bed it is very difficult for me to move around. But I can only hold my previous TT accountable of a small percentage of my problems. I had severe back problems with my last child which I had before my TT. My pregnancy itself is progressing great with no problems. I do have issues with not being able feel certain areas of my skin, mainly around my scar and navel. This is really irritating when I have an itch. My baby occupies every inch of space in my body. I have no worries that this pregnancy will go to full term.

Hi i'm 20 weeks pregnant and i had a tummy tuck about a year ago. I'm experiencing low abdominal pain and i'm worried that my baby is not going to have enough room to grow in. For some reason i feel like i'm getting wide but not really growing from my abdominal area. Is it normal for me to just be getting wider. Does any one know of a website that shows woman who recently got tummy tucks and is now pregnant? before and after pics?

I am debating on whether to get a TT or not. I am 24 years old and about three years ago I had gastric bypass surgery and lost 125 lbs. I am fit not, run and workout more than ever, but my stomach is a mess. I get so sad to see the rest of my body look good and have a huge nasty bulge of fat/skin just sitting there. I have never been pregnant and don't plan on having kids for 6 years or so. I feel like I want to have this procedure done so I can be fully happy with my transformation but am debating if I should wait til after I have kids, which could mean I would have to wait. But I am young, and want to feel young and wear young things as I was never able to in the past. Any suggestions?

Well i had my baby a month ago and I have to say that my body and stomach have faired much better than they did the two previous times which was before the TT. My stomach snapped back perfectly....and at 3 weeks after the swelling went down from the c section my stomach was perfectly flat and nobody could belive that I had just had a baby!!! I did not get one stretch mark either!!!! Which reallllllllllllly shocked me because i was terrified that i would end up worse than before i even got my TT because my stomach was sooooooooooo hard and tight. I stll have a firm tight stomach........and i thought my belly button would somehow get stretched out because it would not pop out but actually it looks much better than after surgery because now it has that "lived" in look as apposed to a "constructed" look!!!! So i guess it's a case by case situation....but it was a perfectly healthy and quite normal pregnancy and my baby was 9lbs and 10 oz...so if i could have a huge baby with no complications related to the TT...then for the most part it should be fine form most other women whom have had it!
