I had a tt about 2 years ago and now I am 9 months pregnant. and due any day now. I had a really big hard scar from my tt that I was going to have scar revision to but then found out I was pregnant. My scar has stretched during pregnancy to a little over an inch thick at the middle and I have horizontal stretch marks above my belly button but none below. My belly button scar is only a tiny bit bigger. I had a lot of pain when my stomach was growing and it felt like it was ripping apart but this would only last a day and happend about 3 times, once at 5 months, once at 7 months and once at the beginning my 9 month. I gained 45 pounds total. Looks like I will be having a corrective surgery. My stomach is round and appears like a normal pegnant stomach but where my scar is it does show it indents in just a tiny bit. My scar just got thicker when my belly grew. My doctor has delivered several babies from women with previous tt's and said I should be able to deliver vaginally and my baby has had no signs of stress. In fact, my baby moves around a lot and since my belly is so tight I feel her so much. Just my belly itches by my belly button a lot and I put lotion on every day. My hips did move out a lot more with this baby than my first. But no new hip stretch marks. Starting weight was 135 and now Im at 180 and due any day. I was a size 4/6 pre-pregnancy and since my hips moved out I was in a size 12 before having to move to Large pregnancy pants. I already started dialating to 1.5 cm and doc says everything looks normal.
Hope this helps someone as I was freaking out when i found out I was pregnant and couldnt find much info.

I had a Tummy Tuck 4 years ago and now my situation has changed and I am planning to have another child. All the research that I have done says that there is no risk to you or the baby. Your body on the other hand will stretch AGAIN. Your body will conform to carry the baby. Think of a woman that is pushing 400lbs, her body had to stretch much more than a child, a tummy tuck, than another child. If her body can do it so can mine.

Hello Mate...I am sort of in the same situation..I had my tt done 3 weeks ago after being told I had lost my baby due to misscarriage..so I went ahead with the surgery...after coming out of surgery I have been really sick,so went back to a doctor who confirmed I am still pregnant..which means I would have been 4 weeks pregnant at the the time of surgery..My husband and I have had three children and I have had three misscarriages so we had given up on trying for anymore children...I am so confused to what I can do right now....someone help

:D I have 3 Boys already 12,8, and 4 so I really have that baby feaver again. i had a tt 2 years ago and i love that way my stomach looks now. I am an aerobics instructor and a stay at home mom. I am 35 years old and I am really concernd on how my stomach will look after a baby. What about hips? From what i have read from these posts women seem to carry the baby higher than before which causes the breathing issues. Please let me know for those who have already had the babies what your body went back to after delivery.

Thank You

I had a tummy tuck 6 months ago after having out 3rd child. We have now decided that we might want to have another one but I am concerned about my stomach muscles. My dr told me she was putting in permanent sutures to hold my muscles together.. will this be a problem as the baby grows? Will my muscles rip apart or will they stretch to accomodate the baby?

Hey, I had a TT 2.5 years ago and now 34 weeks pregnant . I've had very minimal discomfort but definitely look smaller than someone else at 34 weeks who has not had one.

However, in answer to your question, I was told that a TT that involved muscle repair (mine didn't) could cause more pain than a TT without muscle repair. Also, yes, 100% your repaired muscles will once again separate in a subsequent pregnancy. And that separation will likely cause you some discomfort (but probably nothing too bad). Your body will accommodate the baby by doing whatever is necessary (stretching and/or separation of muscles), but i'd totally expect that they'd separate. It was one of the first questions my OB asked me is if I had muscle repair with my TT .

Although the upside is that because your body doesn't get huge (most posters have said they appear smaller following a TT), your tummy will likely bounce back after your next pregnancy.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy pregnancy!

Luckily, my wife had a normal birth when she got pregnant after tummy tuck. So far went well and got nothing to be afraid of. But please take precaution measures by asking some advice from your plastic surgeon. Every situation has a different experience and might end from better to worse. Got nothing to lose if you could always consult your plastic surgeon.

Ours was successfully done by Dr. Eric Egozi by learning at first The benefits of the tummy tuck procedure. Feel free to inquire about your own situation using the link provided.

Me personally would not even think about getting a tt until i knew i wasnt going to have kids or have anymore. One reason bc you dont know how big the baby is going to be. If i would have had a tt and then i found out i was pregnant i would've been in trouble bc my son was almost 10 pounds. He was so big inside me i looked like i was pregnant with tripletts and my dr. even said that. So yea everyone is diff. but it sure is a risk!!!! :-)

HI, just want to let other know how my tummy is after tummy tuck and pregnancy.
I had 2 children in 2 years. waited 8 years and had a tummy tuck- for my stomach that had been very streched and loads of strech marks. i am a small size 12.
i feel pregnant just under 2 years since tummy tuck. i was seriously worried i would strech again and have a belly full of stretch marks.
that has NOT BEEN THE CASE>
I feel the surgery helped to hold me in. i didnt get very big this time, where as with my other pregnancy i put on 28kg. i went to my due date. i have NO STRECH MARKS, and believe my belly has gone back reallly great since birth. muscles still feel nice and tight, just now skin feeels more naturally softer, more womanly and i like that.
so for any woman out there who are worried. eat well, think positive and know that your body is amazing and can handle it.

I had a tummy tuck done by a wonderful plastic surgen who did make a point to mention it to me that he really hoped that I was really done having babies cuz after he was done wif me, there really would not be any room for my tummy to stretch if I were to get pregnant again. He even asked me if I had my tubes tied or anything like that... So time goes on and needless to say, I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK HE DID. I almost feel like I will be letting him down in some kind of way once I call him and tell him what is going on in my head and what I want to be going on in my body. I have a wonderful five year old son and a beautiful little baby girl who will be four this month. Thanks to Dr.Denk who did my tummy tuck and breast reduction/lift, I also am blessed to have the body that I have always wanted. What I also have is a bran new husband. He is wonderful is every way and he is great wif my two kids. He loves them as if they were his own but he wants us to have child together. He has never been married before and has no biological children and as much as he loves mine, we all know that it is never quite the same. Things are good between my ex-husband and myself and he sees his two children every other weekend and two weeks in the summer. So...what more could a girl want? Well, after reading all of the posts here, I realize that I want the same thing that all of you want. One more chance at the one thing that I thought that I was done with. I thought that I was all finished having babies but since I met Ronald and fell in love with him, I know now that I will regret it for the rest of my life if I let the fact that I paid alot of money to have a tight little tummy, keep me from having another child with the love of my life. So I have gone off of my birth control pills and after reading all the things here, the good and the bad, I have decided that if you guys can do it... so can I!! The phone call that I will have to make to Dr.Denk will probably still be kinda hard and I am not even sure why but at least now I know that I am very sure that I can say to him with confidence that plenty of women have done this and it has gone fine. Hell, he should be glad to hear it, he will defiently be the one who I will be calling apon to fix any damage done to my body so if nothing else he should at least be happy to know that thanks to me falling in love, one more of his kids will have their college tuition paid. lol!!! Any info. or ideas that you guys may wanna share wif me would be greatly appreciated. Wish us luck!!

Well, i am 26 years ools, and i have a 5 years old boy, planning to have another child in a years time, i am Diabetic (got it during my pregnancy and it didn't go away), i had a c-section, my wound got infected after this surgery, thats why i'm so scared to have another child, any ways i was thinking of getting a tummy tuck, i hate how my belly looks, but my dr. said that its not right to have a belly button before you give birth, he advised me to do so when i'm done with children forever, i am actually wondering if i can get it done in the same operation as my next C-section(when giving birth) you know to cut me open once instead of twice, is it possible? and is it safe for Diabetic Patients

I am 35 weeks pregnant after a tt 5 years ago. I checked with my Dr. before becoming pregnant. She said it would be just fine. About two weeks ago I started feeling a tearing sensation lower around my incision. I ordered a maternity belt. Works wonders. No stretchmarks yet and my tummy is tight as ever! Lotion and oils are my best friend. I feel like the baby can't possibly get any bigger, but I'm sure he will. My Dr. has never said anything about me having baby early because of my tt. Go with the flow, it's all you can do and don't let anyone scare you about having a baby after your tt. You may have to have it redone, but that is the choice we made when we became pregnant after a tt. We all know what causes it!

HI All,
I had a TT with muscle repair almost 10 years ago and I still to this day feel very tight in my abdominal cavity. I am 31 and married and would like to have my first baby. Did any of you have to go to a specialist for your births? Did any of you have such a tight feeling so long after your tt?
Thank you!
