Was prescribed after a severe car accident. I had multiple fractures and decided not to continue taking medication. The result was mood altering. Is there any research to suggest that suddenly discontinuing hydrocodone when you're severely injured affects your mental state and behavior?

If you are physically dependent on it then you may withdrawal, which will effect mental state and via that may effect behavior.
It is noticeable that something is not right with someone when they are in WD. With really heavy withdrawals, they will obviously be essentially incapacitated, if the withdrawal is minor they may seem sick, nervous and depressed.
