This might sound a little "weird" to some of you, as it is mainly a testimony, but here it goes. I was dealing with this problem for about the last 5 years. The symptoms were pressure on top of my head, an imbalanced feeling-dizziness(I guess maybe vertigo), tinnitus in right ear- which seemed to get louder as the imbalance was worse, just tired a lot of the time-sometimes feeling really exhausted and not doing much, and sometimes a foggy feeling-something like that. I would notice that it would be worse with lack of sleep or too much visual stimulation, especially going to the movie theater, and of course just moving around too much. Another weird thing I thought was that elevation changes seemed to affect it. Airplane rides really stretched out my faith. o.O I must mention that I had the MRI done and blood tests and went to the specialist and everything turned out fine. Well, I became a born-again Christian about 4 years ago and began trusting the Lord as my healer. Through it all He has been my strength(especially in the airplane rides!). Last week I attended a conference in Phoenix where the power of God fell awesomely. I had a fellow brother pray for me and when he laid his hand upon my head the Lord showed him that He was healing me of this condition. Here's what the Lord showed him as he told it to me: That he seen some inner tubes that were clogged or had some fluid built up in them and that the Lord was going to drain them and that fresh blood was moving into this area to heal. The Lord also showed him that there was like a vise, or a clamp upon the top of my head that was being relieved, and that tinnitus was being healed. Then the Lord showed him a level, that like the bubble in the middle represents perfect balance- that I was being restored to perfect balance! Amen. Now I know that some people don't believe, but hey- remember that I didn't tell this guy a thing except to pray for ringing in my ears. Since then, everythings been getting better every day and I actually noticed since that night that I've been experiencing some drainage through my sinuses and back of my throat(I actually was expecting stuff to come out of my ears or something), and that it actually was kinda salty tasting of something-gross,huh. So I looked on-line at this middle-inner ear stuff and it says that adults that get treated for fluid in ear and when they drain it that sometimes long term problems take a couple of weeks to fully drain, and that it's actually a mix of sodium and pottassium. And even about the pressure on the head thing, I found it could definitely be related to inner ear problems associated with those nerves. I figured as the inner-ear pressure was relieved so would the top-of-head pressure be also-and tinnitus seems to disappear with it. Awesome! If anyone wants this info I'd google "fluid in the ears" and maybe "Menieres". And of course, if anyone wants info on attending a conference or event where the power of God is, let me know where you're from and I could probably recommend something. Well, I truly hope I've helped someone cause I know how it is, being restricted cause of this. Believe me, I know how it feels to exclude yourself from carnivals, fairs, amusement parks, boats, movies theaters, basically whatever has motion or visuals. Even the Grand Canyon wasn't fun. Being in such high elevation with that panoramic view wasn't enjoyable for me. Oh, by the way, if this does sound like familiar stuff, be cautious of caffeine drinks and salty/sugary stuff. The caffeine stimulates the nerves-but I love my coffee. I'd end up paying for it with more alertness-but more floatiness/imbalance. Thanks for reading all of this if you did- I was just so stoked that I had to share it. Just remember though, there is Hope-

I'm 51 and have gone a year without periods. Since then I've felt discomfort in the innermost part of abdomen. I've also had bleeding. This is the third month and now and I'm starting to feel pressure on my head like someone is pushing down on it near my forehead. I also have a sense of pressure from my feet....like I'm being pushed up an elevator. This makes me feel mildly dizzy. It is not long lasting, rather a sensation that comes and goes unpredictably. I don't know if there is any relationship among these symptoms, but I find them "odd" and it just doesn't feel right.

Ive been having real strange symptoms for the last 4 or so months. Actually its a long story that started for over 7 years, so here goes.

SYMPTOM:
Unexpectedly I get a rare sensation in my head, sometimes in the ear, following a weak sinus sound in one ear for just a little moment, following by feelings of imbalance and nausea. Sometimes I just get a feeling of slightly pressure in top of my head or in the sides.

This is always how it starts, and the following symptoms that come right after are always the same. Feelings of nausea, stress, I start worry alot, I cant think straight , Brain fog is the closest description i can give about that. Skipping heartbeats sometime (But that is something i always have but they are more frequent when i get these symptoms), and a very stressed and upset stomach with probably gases and high acid levels.

DURATION
The whole process is ranging from a few minutes to maybe half an hour or more. But most of physical symptoms are just in the beginning. Alot of the time is just waiting for body and mind to calm down from the unexpected attack. It feels like the body/mind is trying hard just to be in a stabile state.

ANALYSIS OF SYMPTOMS
Ive been thinking, that I have these attacks always prior to an upset stomach.. Ive been having stomach problems for many years.. When I eat I never get these attacks, bust usually i get them a while after eating or If i never eat at all. And my stomach problem and anxiety are closely linked, so im guessing wether these symptoms are related to my stomach and vice versa?..

OCCURRENCE
Lately these kind of attacks have been coming more frequently as alot of things have happened in my life creating stress I believe, and from my own research it sounds most likely as symptoms of a panic attack.

HISTORY OF PANIC ATTACKS AND PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS
Ive had history of panic attacks and the first one i got was over 7 years ago, and it was related to childhood problems and bad experience of psychedelics. Alot of physical symptoms came with my attacks back then, and I went to the doctor but they couldnt find anything, saying i was perfectly fine. After a year or so, things became a bit better, or more likely, i accepted the weird sensations in my body/mind and then the most extreme sensations get away... but then i started to have this problem with my ears. The ears would sometime feel thick or swollen. I got it first after having a cold and it have stuck with me more or less after that time.

OTHER SYMPTOMS; IMBALANCE, PROBLEM WITH EARS
So apart from these attacks, I always feel more or less kind of dizzy in the sense of that my head feels a bit imbalanced, especially when moving it. Ive had this kind for several years, ever since I got a problem with my ears.

I went to a specialist ear doctor and he said that it was some kind of liquids in my "inner ears" making it feel swollen, and making my balance feel weird, as a result of some kind of infection from because I clench my jaws alot, especially in sleep. I know because it hurts alot if i press my jaws a bit with my fingers. I told him if there was any remedy and he said there isnt much they could do, just dont clench my jaws.

POSSIBLE DIAGNOSIS
Ive been reading alot on internet and this "Labyrinthitis" is something that seems very similar for what I am experiencing, along with the panic attacks / possible PTSD that im suffering from.

But Im not sure yet.. Im thinking about going to a doctor again, telling them to do some kind of medical examination. I have so many symptoms that ive came to live with, so I dont know where to start hehe.
And if they cant find anything in medical examination I think ill start talking to a psychiatrist, because thats probably where it all started anyway for me.

Just so you know, you can get ALOT of physical symptoms from stress, anxiety and panic attacks, so if alot of doctors cant find a wrong with you, maybe there is a possibility that the symptoms are related to some mental condition.

I have had this going on for a little over 3 years now. I'm 33.
I noticed it first when trying to play with my children on swings. Within seconds I felt like my head was going to explode, I couldn't stand or sit. I had severe vertigo. My ears also bothered me then, as well as my sinus deep within my face, but it was the only time I have noticed it.

It was a nightmare.
I visited my eye doctor first, straight away, as i was overdue for new glasses anyway, and nothing too out of the ordinary to warrant a warning sign (I already have vision complications and wear eyeglasses). Then after a regular check-up with my family doctor, nothing there either other than my usual unexplained ailments.

As of date I can't go on swings. I can't spin in a circle or even walk in one. I can't turn my head. I can't ride as a passenger in a car. I cannot stand bright light. It just keeps getting worse, and the nausea never ends. Some days sitting is a huge effort.

I also have severe pain all over my body, that comes and goes. Without listing every symptom, let me just say I've been tested for all the regular things; Lupas, lyme disease, etc. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, though I don't entirely agree. I have an MRI coming up in the next 3 weeks to see if I possibly have MS. I have always had on and off dizzy spells, pain, sensitivity to heat, numbness in limbs, unexplained blurry vision, and the list goes on. I don't feel though that this somewhat recent extreme dizziness, nausea, and 'sometimes' vertigo, is related to my other problems.

I get a lot of migraines as the dizzy spells increase, and even if the dizzy spells fade there is a constant light dizzy feeling along with nausea. It's ruining my life, often I can barely function. I have become a total clutz, falling down a lot, bumping into things. I often ponder if I look like I am intoxicated because walking straight has become an impossibility. I also have a difficult time concentrating, and my memory is nowhere near as sharp as it was.

I do not have the pressure on my head, that I have read here others are experiencing. I do feel like my head is heavier than normal, like I am more aware of it, but there is no pain or discomfort there, nor in my eyes or ears.

I also have normal to low blood pressure, and while I'm mentioning things, a pretty severe vitamin D deficiency along with being anemic. I take daily supplements for those last two.
I do not smoke. I rarely drink, maybe one drink at the most twice a year at an event. I eat very well, and over the past few months stopped my daily yoga routine as this ridiculous dizziness keeps me from doing it. Even right now I am having such a hard time typing this. It don't feel that it is stress, or anxiety, as in those situations the symptoms aren't flaring up or increasing.

It's gotten so bad that two months ago when I went for an eye exam, afterward I had a violent migraine with vomiting and vertigo like nothing I ever experienced before, which didn't cease for three days. The eye doctor said I should have ran to my doctor instantly, as it was neurological, once I saw my doctor she said it was just from the eye exam, and seemed completely unconcerned about it. Either way, ever since that really bad episode occurred it has intensified. I've been keeping a chart to see if there are any patterns, and so far it's completely on again off again with no external sources to blame.

I read all of the postings about this "thing" as some of you have called it and I do feel comfort in the fact that I am not alone. However, no one has really had a diagnosis of what this could be, and that is not comforting! I too have thought it could be a tumor! I sometimes feel so depressed because I just want to feel normal for a change. Then I think back and I can't remember the last time I honestly felt normal. I have a desk job in front of a computer as well. I suffer from seasonal allergies, but besides that I have no other medical conditions. I do no smoke and only drink occasionally. I eat pretty well and honestly the only bad habit I have is coffee which I dont even consume more than 2 cups of per day. I try to sleep 8 hours per night but usually end up getting about 6.5 to 7 hours which is not that bad. I also seem to experience this feeling during the day rather then in the morning.
Its frustrating more than anything like most of you have said. Its not a painful feeling its an annoying pressure on the top of your head or the side depending on the day. My doctors also have said its stress. Its always stress... maybe the doctors are stressing us out! I have been thinking lately that I should have a cat scan done, just in case but I am also afraid of finding something like someone mentioned.
Anyway, just venting and hoping that someone will come with some good news! %-)

These year round symptoms are either mild or severe but are never gone. They are getting worse as I get older:

I wake up with a stuffy head, plugged ears, and a hoarse throat. I am tired no matter how many hours I have slept and my brain is in a mental "fog" until late evening. The constant sinus headache (over-the-counter and professional medication no longer help nor does caffeine) makes me sensitive to bright light and loud sounds. I am moody and irritable and lose my temper easily. I am also depressed from the sinus pain and fatigue.

When I eat, I get bloated or have gas, feel nauseous, and suffer mostly from constipation but sometimes diarrhea. Protein, oily or fried foods, and spices upset my stomach. Carbohydrates such as rice, pasta or bread "settle" my stomach. I prefer fresh fruit over sweets. I crave salt on everything.

I thought I had a cold or the flu but I don't have the fever, uncontrollable vomiting, or body aches you get from a viral infection. But can sinus allergies alone cause the above reaction?

I eat healthy and have a fiber drink in the morning, once a week I may have alcohol, coffee or tea, I don't smoke and I'm not overweight. However, I could do a better job of exercising, adding more raw foods to my diet and drinking more water. Would doing that eliminate these symptoms? (I have to "pee" soon after drinking liquids which can either wake me up all night or I need to be near a bathroom in the day).

I have researched online B12 deficiency, adrenal gland insufficiency, hypothyroid, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) but nothing makes total sense really. Does anyone else feel this way? Anyone found out why? Is there a cure?

I've experienced similar symptoms for the past three years, and they started out of nowhere after a bout of back pain that kept me in bed for a while. The dizziness and vertigo, nausea, pressure and "floaty" feelings in the head (even while lying down), a dull roaring sound in the ears, and migraines. A few years before, I had a nasty inner ear infection but it seemed to go away after antibiotics. I had tests, even an MRI, and the problem was attributed to everything from labyrinthitis to diet to a sinus infection. I was given Meclizine and various antibiotics but the situation didn't change. The symptoms were always present, but their severity seemed almost random.

Then I learned of the existence of Meniere's Disease, a very rare disorder that is characterized by these exact symptoms. Apparently, many people who think they have it actually have something less severe, but it's well worth looking into. You can find more info here:

Dear Guest,
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I am experiencing and another symptom is my right eye has been twitching lately. I would love to find
out what can be done ( a cure) for it or get healed of it. I am beginning to get scared of driving because I keep feeling like I am going to have a debilitating dizzy spell come on me like I had a couple of months ago. Fortunately, I pulled over in time and sat there until the spell passed and then I made it to my brother's house but had another bad dizzy spell while looking at his computer. It was so bad that my head went down on the table.
I hope to be able to find out more information from you.
Thanks, Penny

Cannot believe it!!!

The only thing we all have in common is sitting in front of a computer too much!

I have the same symptoms and have them 24/7 pain in the ass, but computers seem to be the main problem. I am self employed an use computers a hell of a lot.

I sometimes wake up in a sweaty panic thinking I am going to die and neevr see me 4 year old son grow up.

It really does piss me off and you guys obviously feel the same, but I am going to restrict computer time and see what happens.

Good luck guys, hope you & I feel better soon.

You need to get to another ENT. I would also suggest a neurologists. I would also suggest you go to another hospital, a major medical center. It's not uncommon for doctors to not be aggressive in helping those with symptoms they can't easily treat. I've been the victim of doctors just wanting to shove you out of the ER. That can be the worst place to go to get help, believe it or not.

If you go again, go to a major medical center, take someone with you and demand that they do everything to find what is wrong. You must be an advocate for your own health care.

Remember, doctors are for hire, they don't hire their patients.

Hello!
I am a 24 yr old female. Around Feb or march of 2008 I had my mom rush me to the ER because i had became extremely dizzy at work. My job involves a lot of walking and i Could barely walk. My co-workers had to push me out to her car in a chair because i couldnt stand up or walk long enough. When I arrived at the ER. The Doctor made me do some movements and looked in my mouth and my ears. He Said i had a 'virus in my vertigo' and just gave me some motion pills. He said they couldnt give me anything to fight it off, that my body would have to on it's on. He said it would take up to 12 weeks to get totally rid of. I missed 2 1/2 days of work with this 'virus in my vertigo'.
On the fifth of june i went back to the doctor because my right ear was starting to hurt. This time I saw my family doctor, I told him my ear was hurting and i was alittle clogged up. So he gave me some strong antibiotic and ear drops. Saying I had 'swimmers ear'. I'm still using my ear drops as of right now.
Now I am suffering from pressure all over my head ( but mostly behind my ears , on my forhead and under my eyes). I get dizzy and my eyes are extremely sensitive to the light. I'm almost to the point where I don't want to drive because it gives me a headache from squinting.
I've never suffered from alleregies before and that is what people are telling me my problem is. So I started taking Zrytec D last friday and it seems to help but i still have pressure under my eyes and if it is windy my right ear starts hurting again.
I'm getting ready to go to colorado this coming monday so I better get to the doctor and see what he says but i'm afraid he is just going to give me another antibiotic and nothing happen. -
- I hope i can get some input on this from other people on here.

I have gotten migraines with my periods for years but for the past year I have had something quite different and no one seems to understand it... I have been to Drs., Naturalpaths and Pshycologist and no one has answers for me.

Anyway, I find that just before my period starts I get slight boughts of dizziness but nothing too crazy and then about two days after my period has started I get dizziness so bad that I feel as though I am drunk (some days it comes and goes all day). This can last up to a week or more and sometimes builds into a pressure headache. I do find that if I lay down it lessens and it does not happen as much in the evenings or over the weekends when I am off work. I do not have a stressful job and I really enjoy what I do. I only work 9-3 M-F so it is not like I am overdoing it.

I have been taking tonnes of magnesium as I have also been suffering from anxiety for the past year + and I have found the magnesium to help to keep me calm. About 2 years ago I fell rollerblading and had someone fall ontop of me which cracked my sacrum. It was about 5 month afterwards that I started to experience major panic and anxiety (it appears that I damaged my nervous system) and about 4 months after that the dizziness appeared.

The Drs. think the dizziness is linked to my anxiety however, I am beginning to see a real pattern with my menstral. I have had a CT and it came back clean as well has been tested for every kind of ailment out there through blood work including allergies and despite having a couple of delayed allergy issues and low blood sugar everything came back fine. I take good care of myself and keep my sugars stable with proper diet as well as am taking Chromium.

I am a very young 39 yr old and have two sons. My overal health is extremely good as is my mental outlook... but these dizzy spells are beginning to drive me nuts. The seem to start up around Jan/Feb and last year they cleared around June but this year I am still battleing. I am going to massage and biofeed back therapy which seems to help but then just as I think I have it licked... it comes back again. Oh, and I am exhausted most of the time... especially when the dizzy spells are on.

Anyone with any answers or feedback would be greatly appreciated... I am getting really tired of going through this alone.

Thanks
