I have heard about polymyositis ossificans. I know that polymyositis is an autoimmune disease that affects muscle tissue. There is an inflammation. I guess that in some advanced cases, this can lead to ossification. However, I am not sure. That is why I need accurate information. I would appreciate all your replies.

Hi. It is possible that polymyositis can become “ossificans”. It means that the inflammation is in its late phase. Fibres get “calcificated”. They become rigid and any function becomes impossible. I guess this can lead to some serious outcome. I have heard about lethal outcome in longer periods. I cannot give you more info on this. You should consult an expert. Bye!
