I have a red rash on my scrotum that has not gone away. I went in and got checked for STD's and it was diagnosed as jock itch. I have used lotrimin for 3 weeks and it is still just as red. The rash has been there for at least 4/5 weeks, maybe more. That was just when I noticed it was an actual rash by examining myself.
Prior to the rash, as in months ago and over the past months as well, i noticed that some of my hairs on my scortum that are now in the rash had a coating around them. The coating seemed like skin and I could take my fingernails and scrape it off. This is really weird to me and I have no idea what that would be a symptom of.
I was checked for all STD's except herpes was visual and hpv there is no test. Everything came back negative. SO i assume this is either herpes or hpv. However, i have never seen anything about a rash for hpv in men. So that leaves me with herpes. I do not have any lesions that have come up but have had a pimple that could've been herpes i guess. I popped it and pus came out like a usual pimple and that was it. This was about an inch and a half above my penis in my pubic area.
Anyways, is it possible for a herpes rash to stay constantly red on my scrotum and never go away?
What else could it be?
Good or bad- I need opinions plz.

What you describe does not sound like herpes, and herpes sores are usually found on the shaft or head of the penis, not the scrotum. The same goes for HPV, which would appear as individual warts, not a rash. There are a lot of issues that could cause a rash in the groin area besides jock itch, including yeast infection; you could also have a sensitivity to a soap or detergent that you are using. Instead of focusing on the STD possibility, I would suggest a swab test at the doctor’s office to determine the source of the problem. In the meantime, keeping the penis and scrotum clean, wearing cotton underwear, and treating the head and shaft with a penis nutrient formula (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) can help keep the skin clear and smooth and boost your body’s resistance to infection.
