Colitis is an inflammation of the colon. Radiation colitis occurs following radiation therapy and may occur years after initial radiation therapy.
Symptoms of radiation colitis are diarrhea, tenesmus, mucoid discharge and hematochezia (similar to rectal bleeding). Radiation colitis is diagnosed with endoscopy (they insert tube with small camera through your anus…). It is not a pleasant procedure, but it is effective.

I have colitis and usually go 3 or 4 times a day to the bathroom. The problem is that I can't pass wind without a discharge. Can you recommend me some medications for this?
