had my son on Oct. 18Th and the period/ child birth bleeding lasted until like oOct 24th and I did not have a period November nor ddecember but I did take a at home pregnancy test and I thought it said negative but you can barely see the second line. on Jan. 4Th I started to bleed just a little and lightly like a normal period so I just figured maybe I was never pregnant and this is a late period but the next couple days after that the bleeding got heavier and darker. No big clots or anything and I've been having serious stomach cramps, fatigue and back pains, the bleeding has now been off on every few hours or so I will bleed or during intercourse. Since we assumed I was pregnant before the bleeding began me and my boyfriend took no procaution so no protection, no pull outs, nothing.... I'm afraid to go to the emergency room and look like a fool if it is just a late period. Need info help what is wrong with me?

Hopefully you were told by your doctor NOT to have unprotected sex in the first 6 months after delivery? As women are VERY fertile after the delivery of a baby. IF the pregnancy test said no then it's no. Depending on if you are breast feeding etc. then I suspect that this is just a heavy period - due to the build up after the uterine trauma of birth. It takes a while for the uterus to build up a lining again, after the birth of a child. You should NOT be having unprotected sex till around 6 months - as your body is more accepting of a zygot and embryo - just ebcause it is familiar to it (due to it having a baby). Think of it like this, you need a security pass to get into your work every day. Then the security guard starts recognizing you, soon you wont need a card as he recognizes you to be above board and no trouble - same thing with your body and an embryo! You need to let your body heal and get back to pre baby body before having another child!

I would like you to wait a week, take a test or go see your doctor for him/her to take one. It's best to find out early if you are already pregnant or not. IF you are you will need to be seen ASAP - as it is VERY hard on a womans body to be pregnant so close together. I don't think you are, but you can never tell - because of your periods not having enough time to settle and be regular (aka regular ovulation times etc.) Please keep me updated on what happens OK? Good luck!
