I recently recieved a blow to the left side of my chest, within about an inch or so of the sternum, immediately after and since then, I have had a constant pain around the right side of my chest which peaks with applied pressure and breathing. There's no visible bruising or markings anymore in or around the impact area or area that hurts.
I'm slightly worried as the pain has not subsided after two days, what could be the cause?

Hallo,

You have to understand that the area of chest is connected and the pain might be caused on one side but you will feel it on the other side of your chest as well. Have you been using any medication to lower the pain? I think that you are able to use pain killers in order to get rid of the pain. The fact is that in most cases the pain might be caused by the fracture of the rib or even of the sternum. Have you noticed any bruising in your chest? I hope that this helped you in any way and that you pain will go away soon.

All the best to you,

Karen
