Hello, I am post op Patella graft and I have some problems with extension. Saw my consultant yesterday, who said I need to get all the scar tissue cleared away, so I getting that worried feeling again, the same feeling we all got just before our acl ops... Can anyone tell me how painful this procedure is? I want to be able to walk again without having a bent knee!

Scar tissue removal is not limited to ACL patients; it’s a problem that crosses all the knee issues. I recovered from a similar surgery. The operation you are going to be having is called lysis of adhesions or debridement and is done to address persistent scar tissue and Best results occur when the scar tissue is removed within 6 months. I haven't had an ACL, but I can say that the scar tissue removal is more painful than I thought it would be. I was quite limited in active motion but doing passive motion within 30 minutes of waking up in post-op. I hope this helps you.

How can you make hard lumpy scar tissue under the skin go away? In particular under the chin and jaw line.
