I am female 59yr going through memopause, uterus removed 30 years ago, still have ovaries. History of lupus and kidney stones. I have gained 20+ pounds over last 3 months - I attributed it to my age and the fact that I stop taking Premarin about 8 months ago. I am experiencing moderate to severe left side back and abdominal pain - when I bend over, it feels like the most horrible side ache which dissapates in time and then the dull ache. The paid radiates into my back and my groin. I have noticed a decrease in urine output and because of the pain and my history of kidney stones, thought the pain could be due to a stone. I increased my fluid intake and it helps a little but mostly just makes me feel bloated. Eating is also doing the same. I have some diarreha, which is also common when I have a stone. The last 3 days as I walked past my full length mirror I noticed that my shirts are longer on one side than the other. Today I realized that this is not normal for ALL of them to be that way, so I decided to investigate. I am indeed swollen on my left side - enough to be noticable in my clothes. I am getting very uncomfortable in any position and have even done one of things that we women hate - I have gone UP a size in clothes. Today I realized that I need to see a doctor and I will, however, I would appreciate some input if anyone else out there has been through the same or similar.
